SUNDAY 30 JUNE ANTIOC TO BENICIA

Im excited about leaving today and going to Benicia.  I lived in Benicia for a couple years and it is a nice little town.  There are restaurants near by supposed to be a great little bakery and if I remember correctly a nice fish market.

We can’t leave too terribly early because there is a 90’ yacht on the dock where we are supposed to go to and they don't have to be out of there until noon.  So, not only did we leave later, but we took our time.

Rob drove the boat so I took pictures.  Lots of pictures.  This is a very industrial area.

We went by our first marina in the Delta,  Pittsburg.

And the pretty Pittsburg Yacht Club

We encountered big tugs, ships, and islands

Bella was actually enjoying the trip;  but Rob looks a little bored.

We did have to slow our roll a bit because we called the marina and the big yacht “defiance” was still at the dock.
We went under the Carquinez Bridge and the Railroad bridge as well.  It was pretty cool.

And then made it into the Benicia marina.  We had to go to a different dock because Defiance was still there.

This is Defiance: She’s 90 feet.
First we thought she was being defiant by not leaving, but then we realized it needed to be deeper for her to move away from the dock.  She finally did, so we moved in and hooked up.

We walked down the street to Bella Siena, a nice Italian restaurant on the water.  There we hooked up with Ag, his mother Margaret and a friend Jeffery.  Today is Margaret’s 89th birthday and since Ag knew we were going to be in Benicia, he decided to take her there so we could join in the celebration.  It was fun

we actually stayed there for about 4 hours.  It was crazy.  She was surprised and we were happy to get together with them.
