Thursday, 18 August, Lakeside, MT

We got up this morning with a text from Jennifer saying she is in Couer d'Alenes.  So, she's about 3 hours out.
I took Bella for her walk, had my coffee and worked on the blog.  Then I decided I better clean up this messy, dirty rig! We have been here a week today, so obviously it's time to do laundry.
So, that's what we did while we were waiting for Jennifer to arrive. and, we did clean the messy rig.
Jen did arrive at about 10:30 or 11.  She was starving so we went across the street to The Dock and had lunch.  She and I had lunch anyway, Rob had just eaten breakfast.  Poor Rob kept having to run back and get the laundry.  He finally grabbed the rest which wasn't quite dry and threw it on the bed with the fan on.
After eating we all went for a walk on the road by the lake, the one with the cute houses.  The dogs finally got to run around playing chase-me-chase-me.  Both of them really needed that. Poor Leila has been cooped up in a vehicle for the past 3 days and Bella hasn't had anyone to chase around.  They were both pretty happy.
The wind really started coming up.  Oh, and it was really overcast all day.  We could see that it was raining across the lake and there were wind warnings for the afternoon and on until the wee hours.
So the wind was coming up and all the boats were off the lake.
We came back to the rig and contemplated what to do.  It is Thursday and the street fair is going on again this eve in Kalispell.
We decided we would do that.  So we grabbed some warm clothes. We stopped in at Mountain Sport again.  We needed leashes for the board (so when you fall off the board doesn't get away, especially necessary when boarding in a river) and we needed life vests, which we have in storage in Temecula, but not with us.  As it turns out we got these very cool little PFDs (Personal Floatation Device) they are a small roll that you wear around your waist, smaller than a fanny pack, and they have a CO2 cartridge, so if needed you pull the tab and they inflate.  Pretty cool and much nicer than wearing a vest. Unfortunately they only had one leash and we need 2.  Jennifer got a couple cargo straps.
We finally went to the street fair, but it was really, really, windy and cold so we decided to go to a restaurant instead.
We found a very cool Bar-B-Q joint and was very rustic on the inside and very packed.  We had to wait for about 20 min. but it was worth it.  Rob and Jen splits Rib and a Brisket and I had a pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw on top.  Everything was delicious and we brought leftovers home.
We got back, chatted for a little bit and went to bed.
