Friday, 2 September, Lakeside, MT to Helena, MT

HAPPY FALL EVERYONE! I forgot to wish it to everyone yesterday, so I'm doing it today.  I wonder if it isn't official until the 21st like the winter, summer solstices and the first day of spring.!?
It's a bit overcast and chilly this morning.  Rob sat outside, for a little bit, but he had to come in because it got to cold.  Then it started to rain.
I worked on the blog while enjoying my coffee.  I had several days to catch up on.
Finally, around noon we started moving toward getting everything stowed, packed and slid so we could move on to Helena.  I really like it here in the Flathead Valley of Montana, but we are both ready to continue our adventure.  Especially since the weather is turning cold a rainy for the next couple days.
We finally got on the road at 12:45.  We went along the east side of Flathead Lake before turning South East for Helena.  We passed several lakes early on the route.
After about 90 miles the terrain started to really change.  It started getting flatter and dryer.  More rolling hills rather than pine covered mountains.  Much different.
I zoomed on ahead of Rob and arrived at Ft Harrison National Guard Center at about 4:10.  It's about 10 miles west of Helena.
I got us all checked in and then found our spot.  I texted Rob and gave him all the information to get on the base, directions to the RV park and the best way to get into our spot and then waited for him.
He arrived about 15 minutes later.  It took us no time at all to set up and then we set out for town.

We found down town Helena pretty easily.   It is  a cute place.  They have some nice looking buildings and some very cool statues.

We parked and walked down the walking Mall and checked out all the breweries, wine bars, cool shops, and outdoor games.
There are murals;
And Cable cars
And a couple nice parks at the end of the street
We asked someone where to get some good food and they suggested..

The Bridge!  I had a Greek Salad, Rob had an interesting Spinach salad that had dried tomatoes, apples, candied walnuts and blue cheese. Hmmm He also had a couple slices of pizza.  We sat on their cute patio surrounded by flowers.

We walked back down the mall and found a nice little bar called The Lion's Lair.  They had fire barrels to sit around and some live music. We decided to sit with an adult beverage and listen to the music.
While we were sitting there we witnessed something I have never seen before....a moon bow, also called a lunar bow. It is where rather than the sun lighting up the rainbow the Moon does and it was amazing

We sat there for a couple hours listening to the music.  We joined a nice couple at one of the fire tables and chatted with them where we could around the music.
After that we came home and went to bed.  It was a fun evening.
