I had to stop in and turn in the key. They lock their water and electric boxes here.
I hit the road looking to catch up with Rob. The plan is to stop in Ennis, Montana and leave the rig parked there somewhere and then take my car over to Virginia City which is supposed to be a Ghost Town.
The sky is amazing as I caught up with Rob.
Much prettier than the picture shows.
I had a really nice chat with Barbara (my Stepmother) about many things, including her wanting to go to Mexico to visit Chris and his wife. Chris is my stepbrother. Anyway, it was a nice chat.
I continued driving and taking pictures. Sorry Mom, I was taking pictures while driving. I only almost ran off the road once. I'll be more careful in the future!
It was a pretty drive. Note the snow on the mountain tops!
I had passed Rob up because I wanted coffee and needs to stop. He called me and said he also wanted coffee so when I found a place where he could park as well to let him know.
We stopped at a place called Montana Wheat. It was a bakery, Deli, and gas. It smelled delicious from the parking lot. I called Rob and let him know. For some reason Bella didn't want to get out of the car. Second time in two days. Not sure what is up with that. So I left her and went in by myself.
While I was in line for a couple tasty morsels and coffee Rob came in and joined me. We decided not to stop in Ennis, but rather zoom on to Henry's Lake State Park and for me to see if I liked it and let him know. We don't have reservations, so if we don't like it we can find some other RV Park.
He wanted a sandwich so he got back in line and I hit the road.
More pretty scenery.
The town of Ennis is really cute. We'll have to come back!
There was road work on the bridge and we had to wait for the pilot car so I decided to come down here and take pictures of the river and the peeps fishing.
Henry's Lake!
I got to Henry's Lake State Park and went inside to talk to the Ranger? I'm not sure what she was other than the person who checks us in. Her name is Beth. I asked her how long she has been here and she said every summer for the last 50 years. I told her at one time my relatives owned a very large ranch called the McCrea Ranch. She said Gordon?! I said YES. She knew him and the ranch and my Aunt and it was awesome. She gave me a map showing me where it was/is. There is a McCrea campground now and a McCrea homesite development. We'll have to go check it all out while we are here.
Rob pulled up so we jumped in my car and drove around the Rv park and picked out our spot and then went back and told Beth and paid our money. Oh!, she said it is supposed to snow on Monday! Great!
We set up and then went out for a walk about.
This is one of the coolest spots we have been info a while.
We are right on the lake!
We sat outside for a bit enjoying an adult beverage and Bar-B-Quing chicken, but it got to cold to eat outside so we went in.
I had a great chat with my Mom and told her about Beth knowing Gordon and then she shared a lot of information about which relatives owned which Ranches and who might still be here.
We also Finally updated our travel Map that is on the outside of our Rig. We only add the states that we have actually had our jacks down in, not just ones we travel through. So, here it is!
We enjoyed a really beautiful sunset before going to bed!
