Since we had all the slides pulled in Rob grabbed his coffee and came back to bed. Bella and I continued to snooze for awhile.
We finally got up and started packing things up and putting stuff away. We hit the road at about 10:30. I stopped in at the Ranger station to check out and get our refund for the 4 days we are not going to be staying. As I was leaving it began to snow. As we headed down the road we had a mixture of rain and snow for about 40 min.
It finally started clearing up. It was a bit of a pretty drive. I saw a sign for a scenic overlook (and I really needed to stop and get rid of all the coffee I'd consumed) so I pulled in to the Clark Hill Rest Area
It was a pretty over look
There was a Memorial for Vardis Fisher
There was a plaque about the cottonwoods
And it is a pretty area
I continued driving and came upon the Palisades Dam and Reservoir. I pulled over to take a picture. All the reservoirs we have encountered have been really low.
The drive was also pretty because the leaves are beginning to change colors. There were some really pretty areas.
The total drive was 2 1/2 hours which was nice.
In the little town of Alpine Rob called Jesse. Jesse will meet us at the entrance to the Star Valley Ranch Resort and lead us to our spot.
I followed Rob into the park and Jesse and Sharon met us and led us to their friend's lot. It is real nice and easy to get into. We chatted a bit and then they left us to get ourselves set up. We accomplished it all fairly quickly. Unfortunately we had the right side to high and had to re-hook up to the truck and move it off the blocks and set the jacks again. But, no big deal.
While setting up we met the neighbors, Ron and Rose. They had just come back from off roading, rock climbing in their little Rzar UTV (utility vehicle like an ATV, All terrain Vehicle.) They do a lot of that around here. They were real friendly. They live here in the summer and South Carolina.
At 5:00 we headed over to Sharon and Jesse's for a gathering for friends for Monday Night Football and potluck. On the way I took a quick picture of a small area of the park.
A couple lots down we found Brian, Rhonda, Willard, Anne Maxwell and another couple. They are on the lot that Brian and Rhonda bought last summer. It was nice seeing them. We visited with them for a little while and then continued on to Jesse & Sharon's.
There we met three other couples who either live here in the RV park or up the road on the Star Valley Ranch. It was a nice evening meeting and visiting with all of them.
We came back home (to our rig) and watched a little TV before going to bed. Right after we arrived it began to rain. It is supposed to be cold and rainy tomorrow. We will see!
