Friday, 7 October, Durango, CO

Congratulations Rob, he has been with Alaska Airlines 20 years today!
Beautiful clear blue skies here in Durango this morning.  Crisp as Bella and I went out for our morning business call.
The camp ground is real nice and we have a "Deluxe Patio Spot. Wow!  It is a concrete patio with table with 6 chairs, a love seat rocker, a built-in fire pit, and a built in bar-b-q.  Nice!
I went outside and set up Bella's fence.  We didn't do it last night when we got here because it was too late and too cold.  But, she does like to go in and out.  She loves to sit in the sun.
Anyway, it is all set up now.

After that, I went in and showered and Rob went off to fill our propane tanks.  We have been using a lot of propane because we have had to have the heat on all the time.
When he got back we all went in to check out the town of Durango.  We failed to go to the Visitor Center (didn't see it), but we did go to the train depot to figure out what we need to do for tomorrow.
(We are taking a bus up to the town of Silverton in the morning.  It is up in the mountains.  We get to wander around there for a couple hours and then we ride the train back.  It is a three hour train ride and this time of year it is all about the changing colors of the leaves.  Also, the train is a narrow gauge train.  We are looking forward to it)
Back to Durango, we checked out a couple of the Breweries in town trying to find a suitable one to watch the Raiders game on Sunday.  We had lunch at one of them. We each had unique burgers.  They blend two different meats together into the patty.  Mine had a horseradish cheese on it that was so hot it cleared my sinus with each bite.  I finally had to take it off.  We originally were each going to order one burger because it sounded so good, but then I said rather than the same let's try two different and split them.  So we did.  We cut them in half and swapped halves.  As soon as I bit into mine and tasted the horseradish I knew that wasn't going to work and we had to swap back.  I was stuck with the whole yucky one.  Oh well, less calories since I couldn't eat the whole thing.
This is the only picture I took in town!
We wandered around town a little more and then Rob started whimpering about us running out of daylight, so we went back home.  He went off on a 20--mile bike ride and I stayed home and took a nap (my stomach wasn't feeling so great). He took some nice pictures!

He came back and we built a wood fire in the pit and enjoyed an adult beverage.  We were enjoying the fire as well until the wind shifted and was blowing all the smoke in our faces (that's why we aren't so crazy about wood fires anymore).
We went inside and fixed dinner and watched a movie that we had gotten from Netflix. The funny thing about that was, while he was reading the highlights to me I thought to myself, i've already seen that, and sure enough, as soon as it started I was sure I'd seen it.  Rob; however, watched almost the entire movie before realizing he had seen it before as well.  Does that mean age is catching up with him???
We went to bed.
