On the way back from 3 dog corner last night we stopped in at Charlie's Chocolates looking for his awesome salted caramels. But, he was completely out of everything and was waiting for chocolate to be delivered so he could make all his candies. He said he would have them at the market in the morning.
But, when we went to the market this morning he did not have any of the chocolate caramels with him. He said his shop would open at 10 and we could get them then.
So, we went back to the rig and loaded up our empty propane tanks into the truck. Then we grabbed all our recyclables and took them down to the bins. It turns out they only do plastic and cardboard. All the beer bottles just get thrown away.
After that we drove over to Charlie's got our chocolates (maraschino cherry, salted caramel, and kailua creams) and then headed to SJDC. We stopped in at the propane place and filled our tanks and then headed to the Airport to drop Rob off.
From there I went to Walmart to pick up some more water and a bit more dog food. It was noon time and I thought it would be fun to find a place on the beach to get some lunch.
Well, all I found down there were all-inclusive hotels and they would not allow the public to come in.
So, we headed back to Los Barriles.
But, along the way I decided to check out Santiago. It is a little village off the highway on the way back.
So I drove to it and through it. It is a cute little town with a pretty church, but no exciting place to eat.
From there I drove back out to the highway and once again headed for home. But again, I decided to check something else out
Cabo Pulmo National Park is supposed to be a really good snorkeling and scuba diving place. Well, it is 25 km off the highway and 15 of it is dirt road. Oh my God it took forever to get there and once there there was only one restaurant on the beach and it was closed. I was very disappointed. It was a pretty area tho.
We got back into the truck (Bella and I were really hot and hungry) and drove like a bat outta hell back along that dirt road bouncing and kicking up dirt and dust until we finally got back to the paved road.
We drove straight to El Geckos on the beach back in Los Barriles. It was 4:30 when we finally got there.
I sat down and ordered Shrimp Fajitas. As I was sitting there Bella was sniffing the peeps at the table next to me and I looked up and we recognized each other. It was the Lewises from Tahoe. They invited me to join them so I did. We had a fun evening visiting.
After dinner I drove the truck back to the rig, unloaded all my goodies, like the propane tanks. And then drove off to park it. On the way back from the parking lot I went over to the hot tub and took a dip. It was nice and hot. Then I joined the people at the end of the row, one of the Airstreams from Canada and sat around their fire visiting with them and finally came back. I replaced the propane tank in the rig and made so much noise clanging it agains the side that the man next door came over to see what the heck I was doing and to see if he could help. By that time I have finally gotten it in and hooked up.
Long day
