Tuesday, 25 July, EAA Airshow, Oshkosh, WI

 Rob went on line and did the small Unmanned Aircraft Certificate test and passed.  He is now certified.  Since my pilot's license is not current I have to go to an exam center and take a test twice as long as his.  I knew all the correct answers to his test, even the correct answers to the one that he missed.  I'm not ready for my exam yet.
We enjoyed our coffee and then got ready for the day!
We walked to the airshow.  We wanted to go check out the Ultra lite airplanes and the helicopters.
On the way we saw some fun sites.

This is an interesting way of camping.  The tent sits on top of the car.  This is apparently common in Australia.

This is one of the camping area called South Africa.  They are apparently a big party bunch who have live music in the evenings and everything.

There was a lot of activity at the Helicopter field.  No ultra lite s flying, just the helicopters.  

 We watched a bit and then talked to Safari Helicopters.  I told them I had flown the Huey in the Army and the woman was ecstatic about it.  She wants me to be a pilot for their chopper because all their pilots are males.  We signed up to take a ride with them on Thursday.  It is supposed to rain tomorrow so Thursday will be better.

We continued to check things out, Ultra lites and others.

This is an Ultra-lite.  Rob is trying to decide what he wants to fly when he retires from Alaska;  he has been flying since he was 16 years old and can't imagine himself not flying.  So, we look.

We noticed this one out there on the field sticking out of its trailer and attached to an RV.  Hmmmmmm

We decided we would have to check this out on Thursday when he is doing his presentation.

In the mean time, we wandered around and checked out more of the show.

These are very cool amphibians.  The blue one is the Albatros and the yellow is called a Mallard.  

But the love of my life is the Huey!

I sure do miss flying this bird.  If I could I would go back and be an active duty Huey pilot.

We went back to the Drone center and bought the Spark.  It is their smallest one, with supposedly really good picture and video quality and is supposed to be super easy to fly.

We wandered around some more and then headed back to the RV.  

Man, My knees and hips were killing me by the time we got back. All that walking on concrete and asphalt.
