Tuesday, 8 Aug; Cedar Lake, In

Today is the day it is forecasted to be sunny and beautiful.  Originally I was going to wait until today to go to Notre Dame.
I goofed around and posted all the pictures of Notre Dame on the blog.
I took Bella for a nice walk and let her run around chasing birds.  Then I brought her back and went out for my run.  I did the same trek, running out for 2 miles and then walking back.  It was still so hard, but a little bit better.  I took 15 seconds off my time from Sunday, which was nice, but I am still 2 minutes slower than my slowest time on my Army Fitness test.  Oh well, shit happens when you get older.
I came back, cooled off and then took a shower.  I planned on going to Indiana Dunes State Park to check it out and thought it might be a nice place for Bella.  I also know that it is on the shore of Lake Michigan which is warm and the water so beautiful that I thought I might want to swim.  But when I went on the website I discovered that it is mostly a huge sand dune along the shore of Lake Michigan.  I mean miles and miles of it.  I decided it might be a nice place for the three of us to check out, but not really a good place for Bella and I to hang out in for the day.
That led me to looking for parks where I might be able to take her, which then led to beauty salons and the next thing I knew I had an appointment for a hair cut.
It was a really nice place called The Color Room Salon and Day Spa.  The gal did a great job on my hair.  She listened to what I wanted and understood it and did it.  Then she gave me a tour of the place.  I always wanted to know what a "Day Spa" was.  So they do everything, hair, nails, massages, facials, make-up, as well as brow and lash enhancements. I ended up getting some make-up tips as well.  I bought a couple of make-up items, one being brow powder.  The cool thing about it is it comes with several brow stencils of various shapes and sizes that you put up to your brow and then dab the powder on.  Cool.  I haven't tried it yet!
After paying the shockingly large bill, starting with $50 for the cut which was really only trimming up the back, we left.
We found a place where Bella could run around a bit and chase ground hogs or prairie dogs.  They are so funny, they all stand up by their holes and chirp until she gets close then they all disappear. While they are disappearing a bunch in another part of the field will all stand up and chirp.  Meanwhile, she is running back and forth going nuts.
We left there and decided to go to Bugaboos for a burger.  It is on the lake, or rather across the street from the lake and is across the street from my turn-around point on my run.  They have a really nice deck and there are always people there so it must be good.  The funny thing is I thought the name was Burgaboos and that it was a hamburger joint.  I have been misreading a ton of things lately.  Is this all part of getting old?
Anyway, we sat on the deck and they do have burgers along with a lot of other things, salads, fish, sandwiches wraps, and dinner item. Bella and I shared a Teriyaki burger which was delicious.  We also had a lousy, too sweet, margarita, and then an even worse one. The burger and fries were quite yummy though.
After that we went home and watched my favorite programs on TV.  I must admit, after my favorite programs ended I did watch a couple of episodes of Chicago Fire before going to bed.
