Wednesday, 9 November, Fresno to Seal Beach.

Mom and I got up, had some coffee and then got ready to go pick up Barbara.  I told her we would be there at 9:00 am and I opened her front door at 9:02.  I was very proud of myself.
We grabbed her and her suitcase and headed out.
We (Mom, Barbara, Bella and I) went to a fun little breakfast restaurant not to far from where Barbara lives.  The Red Apple Cafe.  We like it a lot there.  We always have to wait, and this morning was no exception, but they make really good Bloody Mary's that we enjoy sipping on while we wait.  It was probably a 15 min wait and of course there was quite a bit of buzz about the outcome of the election.
We had a nice visit and a nice breakfast.
Afterward we took Mom and Bella back to Mom's house and then Barbara and I hit the rode for Los Angeles.
It wasn't a bad drive.  The traffic was pretty light until we got down closer to LA and then, of course it was pretty slow on the 405.
Just before the Grapevine the traffic was really pretty light.  Barbara and I were chatting away and then I look up into my rearview mirror and oh shoot, there were blue and red flashing lights I looked down and my speed and it was 90 MPH.  I thought oh shoot, here comes a ticket.  So, I pulled over and this nice Police Man came up to the car.  He said I pulled you over because you were speeding.  I said I know, I'm sorry, she and I were chatting away and my speed got away from me.  He asked where we were headed and we told him Seal Beach and then Mazatlan tomorrow.  I am so used to being on Military bases that I automatically pulled out my military ID along with my driver's license.  Perhaps he liked that I was a Veteran.  I asked if he wanted to see my vehicle registration and insurance and he said no, I'm just going to give you a warning this time.  He said, because I like Seal Beach.  We thanked him profusely and drove the rest of the way to LA at what felt like a snail's pace, 65 MPH; mostly, actually at 70.  It still felt really slow.
But, we arrived at the Teton at LAX safe and sound. Rob had been there and had the generator and air-conditioning on.  It was nice and cool inside.  Barbara had never seen the Teton and was impressed with it.  It is really a nice fifth wheel.
Rob came home shortly after we got there.  We had a glass or two of wine and then went out to dinner.
We went to this really fun restaurant called Rock and Brews in El Segundo.  It was very airy.  It was all open.  Half of it didn't have a roof over it.  The other half did, but it was all open to the outside.  They had big murals of various Rock and Roll bands and artist, as well as posters from various concerts. They also played good music.  It was really fun and the waiter and manager were really nice.  The food was real good as well.  I got a full rack of baby back ribs and ended up only eating about 3 little ribs.  We cut the rest of them up and took them with us.  Barbara had fish and chips and couldn't finish all of hers either. So we packed it up as well.
We went back to the Teton and had a night cap and then went to bed.
