Mom, Bella and I went off to our favorite restaurant for a late breakfast, their delicious bacon and yummy Bloody Mary's. There is always a 15 min plus wait at the Red Apple Cafe, but the fact that they have really good Bloody Mary's and give them to you while you wait makes it OK. They know and like Bella so that is also a plus as well. It is right by Walmart so if we need anything from there it is convenient.
Since it has been about two weeks since I have been in Fresno, Mom needed groceries. So, off we went to Smart and Final. Bella and I just follow Mom around and help where needed.
We met a woman while we were in Smart and Final and she works for a Home Care Service as well as, on her own, doing chef service. She asked me about Mom and told me that she does private cooking for people. She meets with the person and sets up a menu. The woman does the grocery shopping and cooks the meals and then delivers the meals to Mom. I introduced the woman to Mom and they chatted for a little bit. Mom will give her a call and find out more about her.
We came back home and collapsed for a little bit after putting away all the groceries. One we recovered we made our way to the table and began our marathon of Rummy card game. This is our normal behavior. We play rummy to establish the champion. We eat potatoes chips with Mom's yummy garlic, horseradish, sour cream dill weed dip and drink wine or Margaritas if so inclined. We play one to three games depending on the time. We always play at least three by the end of the visit. Once either tired of playing or establishing the champ we go and "sit soft" in the living room and watch our favorite programs on TV which Mom has previously recorded. I got to watch NCIS and Bull and some other programs I have missed over the past several weeks....months....
Finally it was time for bed. The bed at Mom's is really comfortable. Bella and I like it a lot.
