Our initial destination is the RV repair in Glendale AZ. I arrived there about 10 min ahead of Rob. We had an appointment and I reminded them what we were there for. It was a very easy fix. It turned out that the ceiling fan is on the same circuit with the hot water heater. We know that when we have no electricity that we run it on gas. So, the guy just took the circuit off the solar inverter. Simple. He also fixed my sconce that is loose and rolls upside down.
Rob had to go to an appointment, so he took off in my car leaving me to deal with the RV. By dealing with it I mean driving it for an hour and a half and then backing it into our new spot.
The drive was easy. Our new home is in McDowell Regional Park, Fountain Hills AZ. It is out in the middle of the desert, but surrounded by some really pretty hills. There are also 65 miles of well marked hiking and biking trails. Thus, the main reason for us staying there.
I found the park and checked in and headed off to our spot. OK, it looks kinda short, but we'll make it work (the "we" is Bella and I) I had to back in to the spot on the right side of the road which is not quite as easy as backing in to a spot on the left. I pulled up, got out, looked and then started to back in. way to close to the right edge. Pull back out. Try to back up to get closer to the left. Oops, to far, backing in past. Pull forward and try again, oops, to far. Now I can't get lined up in the middle of the road. Oh boy, what a mess. OK, screw this, go around the park and try the whole thing again.
Ok, I'm back. Get out, look, back in (Bella's like out? In? what's going on?) Ok, backing in, Oh my God, too far to the left, wheels are hitting the curb. Pull forward, get out, look, get back in, back up. Ok, made it into the spot. Now to straighten the rig out and the truck so I can disconnect. Get out, look, back in, "What the heck is going on. It is more crooked now than it was before. Geez! Ok, finally got it set. (Only took 30 min!) Now check level. Woah, left side is going to have to come up two blocks. Ok. set the blocks, pull forward. Oops, to far, back up, oops to much, 3rd time is a charm.
Ok; set front jacks and raise the rig to disconnect. Yippee! no problem here! Move truck away. Check level. It is perfect. Now for the back jacks. Wow, it is way off the ground. Let's see how many blocks I can find. Ok, I found 5 for each foot. Lower the jacks. Is it going to make it? Can I find anymore jacks? Ok, two caps. Phew! it is solid.
Ok, hook up electric and water.
Go in, put all the slides out and put things away. Next, the fence. Bella doesn't like it when we put up or take down her fence. It scares her. so, she waits in the car/truck until it is all finished. We have a really big area. Two areas actually. So I fenced in as much of both areas together as I could. I put the rugs out, all 4 chairs and the Bar B Q.
I went in and opened the refrigerator to get some water for Bella and a beer fell out at me. Well, what else could I do but sit down and drink it. And just as I did, Rob drove up! Perfect timing young man!!!
We decided to do a walk about. We have a map with all the different trails and thought a quick mile or two would be good. Since we are out in the desert with rattlesnakes, scorpions, and coyotes, we cannot let Bella off-leash. But she is still quite happy with a walk.
It is really pretty out her. The desert is just beginning to bloom.
We came upon a play ground. It is very desert themed.
