Wednesday, 5 April; McDowell Mountain Regional Park.

Lovely morning here in the desert.  There are soooo many birds.  It is almost deafening sitting out there.  But we have a really nice view of the mountains, so we really enjoy it.
We took Bella for a bit of a walk and then came back and got our bikes.  We are very excited about getting out there and checking out the trails.
We picked a big loop  first going up campground trail, then Granite, then Delsie, then Pemberton Loop. From the loop we picked up the Bluff back to Granite and Campground. It was really fun.  The Granite and Delsie were kind of boring, but the first half of Pemerton was smooth flowing single track with swoops and turns and really fun.  The other half was uphill rocky and it sucked.  I was getting super tired.  The bluff was again really fun, sort of up on a ridge, and again flowing and curvy.  All total we did 21 miles.  I was very tired when we were done.
We came back and chilled for a little while and then decided to take Bella for a walk to find out where we can have UPS items sent.  We walked to the visitor center and looked around.  Nothing spectacular, but we did get a map of more of the trails in the immediate area.
Rob had not gotten all of steps yet and was bound and determined to do so, so he wanted to go on one of the trails.  Wagner is a 1.1 mile trail. Bella and I were really tired so we headed back.  Rob actually did further than just the Wagner trail and was gone a bit longer than expected which caused me to worry. I had run over a rattlesnake on the trail so they are definitely out there.  We have next to no cell service out here, so my texting and calling was not working.  He finally came strolling in about 40 min later than expected.
He was fine and took some very pretty pictures, so all is well.

We sat outside for a bit enjoying adult beverages, ate dinner, watched a movie and went to bed.
