Thursday, 6 April, Mc Dowell Mtn & golf in Scottsdale

The mornings and evenings are really really cool here, but the day warms up pretty quickly.
The surrounding desert is so very pretty.  Another week or so and it is going to be amazing with all the blooms.
We sat out and enjoyed our coffee.  We are playing golf today but don't have to leave until 11 am so Rob decided he had enough time for a bike ride. So, off he went.
Bella and I remained behind and got ready for golf.
We drove all the way into Scottsdale (home of Baseball's Spring training camps) to a course called Cave Creek.  the is funny, because the town of Cave Creek is north of the park where we are staying.  As it turns out, the Creek runs through Scottsdale and the golf course is built along it.
It was a really pretty course and fun.  We played with two men who were friends and play there quite often.  They were really nice with a nice sense of humor.
After golf we went to downtown Scottsdale and went to a restaurant call Mellow Mushroom.  They specialize in pizzas, but have other good food as well along with a good selection of beers.  Our friends, the Aubuchon's own two of the restaurants in Texas.  Rob has been to both of theirs with them, but I have never been to them.
This one, as all of them are, is very eclectic.  Very fun decor.  It had both inside and outside dining as well as an indoor/outdoor bar.  We each had a salad, then we shared pizza bites which are pieces of the dough with beer-cheese and tomato sauce for dipping.  Additionally we ordered a small pizza.  Everything was quite delicious.  We ended up taking half of the bites and half of the pizza home.
From there we headed home.  We are flying out in the morning and have to get up really early! We went to bed at about 8:30.  I was very tired.
