MOAB, WEDNESDAY 17 JUNE

WEDNESDAY, 17 JUNE
Today was another full day, but not quite as crazy as yesterday. We were really hoping the wind would die away, but it never quite left us.  It wasn’t as windy as yesterday though.
We started out by going for a bike ride along the River. Bella loves riding in her basket on the bike and she is even ok with wearing her goggles.
We rode along the river (Colorado) through the Canyon. It is so pretty
A couple years ago we went on a night time boat trip on this river. They told a story of the Native American who were first here, as well as the first settlers. They projected various scenes on the rocky sides of the canyon and did a really neat laser show.

There is a pedestrian bridge that goes across the river.  It makes it really nice for peeps who are paddle-boarding. They get out of the river with their boards and can walk back to their cars.
It’s a nice place to look up river, watch paddle boarders and the “tour river cruisers”
After our bike ride along the river we rode further, but this time we rode along the highway. Not the best place to ride, but the only place after the river. We rode for a couple miles to the entry of Arches National Park. It would have been fun, but oh my goodness it was really super steep.
We decided to go and find out which beach would be best to start paddle boarding. While we were driving I heard a Big Bang. I said what was that. Somebody coming at us clipped us and took out our Side mirror. Like took it off our truck and spread it all over the road. I was not happy. I said hey, Turn around. Rob said it was probably my fault, I was probably over the line. I said, B.S, if it was your fault, the guy would be coming after us. It was a hit and run.  Anyway, we didn’t find the perpetrator. We went home, changed clothes, grabbed our board stuff and went back to the river.
We put in at mile 7 and paddled down to the bridge.

It took 2 hours to paddle down the river. Rob did the good ‘stand up like he was supposed to. I on the other hand sat.  Every time I started to stand up either the wind would come up or a boat would come by with a giant wake.
I was perfectly happy sitting on my but paddling.  It was so much easier than standing up. As soon as I tried to stand my legs were so shaky it just didn’t make sense to try. Down on my happy butt I went.......for the duration. I think I still got a really good core work out.
We dropped the truck off at the river’s edge by the pedestrian bridge and then drove up to the starting point, Nude Beach, in the jeep.  Afterward we loaded the boards on the truck and then had to go back up river for the Jeep. We used to kayak the Truckee River up in Tahoe. Rob always had to hitch hike back to the starting point to retrieve the vehicle. It’s nicer having the two vehicles.
We went back to the RV. I fixed Salmon pasta while Rob deflated the paddle boards and stowed them. Oh, after the rough day Bella had yesterday in the Jeep all day we figured she would appreciate us not taker her on the paddle boards, so we left her home.
