We sat outside and enjoyed our morning coffee one last time in Sedona. Well, almost enjoyed it. Those crazy squeaky birds were at it again. I will not miss them. We weren’t in any hurry, but we finally got motivated to pack up and hit the road.
We have a couple issues that we do not know yet if they are serious or not. One is that one of the gray tanks does not seem to be emptying. Or at least when Rob opened the valve, nothing flowed through. When he checked the status of the take it showed empty. So, not sure if the valve was open the whole time or what.
The other issue is that the “check engine” light keeps coming on in the truck. When he checks the codes one says something about the brakes (they seem to be working fine) and the other say something about turbo power. Great! Here we go again, shades of Kerville Texas in 2017.
We packed everything up and we’re on the road by 9:30. Today’s journey is to Monument Valley and it is only supposed to be a 3 1/2 hour drive.
Before we left Pahrump we decided that wherever we were we would go out to breakfast on Sunday mornings. Perhaps to a brunch with Mimosas! But, here it was, Sunday morning and we were driving, on empty stomachs no less. We decided to stop at Cracker Barrel in Flagstaff. When we pulled up there were a lot of people milling around outside and we thought there was going to be a long wait. They had a masked receptionist outside taking names for tables and when I told her there were just two of us she said go on in, there’s a table for you. Awesome. And they were following the coronavirus protocols. All the staff were masked and they were only using every other table.
The service was great and the food was very good and lots of it. Neither of us had been to a Cracker Barrel before.
We continued on our journey.
The scenery was nothing to write home about and I was starting to get a little disappointed in our choice of destinations, but, finally some monuments started to appear. I say finally, because our 3.5 hour drive was seeming to take forever.
We finally arrived only to be disappointed in the fact that the Navajo Nation Park, and the road through Monument Valley are closed due to the Pandemic. We can’t drive through or anything. How sad is that?!
We decided that rather than stay the two nights we had originally planned, we would only stay tonight and leave in the morning for Moab.
We set up only partially. We leveled left to right, but while hooked to the truck we were level front to back so we left it hooked up. We didn’t even set up Bella’s fence.
We decided to go for a little hike to see what we could from the RV Park. It is a beautiful area.
We came back to the rig and Rob went for a run. When he got back we sipped on some Ramos Fizzes, ate some dinner and watched more people arrive in the park. Once it got dark we went to bed
