We dropped it off then hit a great little bakery cafe nearby. I had a bacon, cheese, egg croissant, and Rob had the same on Wheat bread.
We went to visit Barbara. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic she is still on lock down. We were hoping she would have been able to go to Erik and Laura’s last night for dinner, but nope. She couldn’t even come outside, which I don’t understand, because when we arrived there was a woman outside walking with her walker, with a mask on of course. Barbara knew who she was, as they had chatted before. The woman is from England.
Anyway, we were only able to visit Barbara through an open window. She sat in a chair inside the room and we stood outside with masks on and talked through an open window. No chairs for us to sit on or anything.
Barbara looks and sounds real good. She’s lost a bunch of weight and her spirits seemed real good. She is enjoying her nightly face time, happy hour with Erik, Laura and some times Whitney.
While we were out there visiting with her we met the new facility CEO. She was very nice and was looking for empty apartments that the residents could use to have face to face visitations with their families. That will be nice.
They are having a big Zoom (online meeting) with her,all the residents (who have computers or smart phones) and their families. I was really looking forward to it.
After visiting with Barbara we returned to the camp ground. We decided that today would be a good day for a bike ride through this State Park. Bella would be able to go to, so that’s a bonus. She loves to go for bike rides.

This was pretty interesting. In order to control erosion of the creek and prevent garbage from going into the lake the made these step like curves. They mixed concrete with the soil and the stepped-up the sides. It catches debris and slows the flow. I thought it looked pretty natural as well.
There were actually several of these spots along the creek. They looked pretty cool and certainly seemed to be doing the trick.
We came upon an amazing “Off-Leash dog park. The reason it is amazing is because it is at least 5 or more acres, it is all fenced, it has paths and trails throughout and it has a creek that runs through it. So in some parts the dogs can wade, in s9me they can swim but all throughout they can frolic and chase their shadows if they so desire. It made us happy. The bike path actually went through part of it so we got to see it up close and personal.
All in all we rode 17 miles. Some of it was dirt trail, but most of it was paved. It was rolly polly with some good climbs and seventy. We got a good work out.
We came back to our spot, and got cleaned up.
The truck was fixed so we went and picked it up and then dropped off the Jeep for its turn in the shop. The truck turned out to be reasonable. We had ordered a new side mirror from Amazon and it arrived in time for them to install it. The codes turned out to be small items. Yippee! It’ll still overheat in climbs, so we will just have to take it easy.
We have actually ordered a brand new truck which is being delivered to Idaho and we will pick it up mid July.
We have just had way to many problems with this truck, it has cost us a fortune and it is just to tired to be able to do its job any more. We don’t want to worry about it and about having problems while we are touring Alaska (If we get to do it).
We came back home, had a beer and dinner and went to bed. It cools off nicely at night here in the high country
