Bella for a walk
Grill for Sunday Brunch; disappointed with new management, raised prices, one drink only included rather than $1.00 mimosa or Bloody Mary. New bar tender. Marys aren’t as good
Played Golf, only 9 holes due to heat and late tee time; started on back nine due to Tournament
Went to town to buy few groceries for evening meal.
Watched You Tube Videos on Yacht to Do; about couples experience and frequently asked questions about the loop.
Sunday, 30 August. It is really nice to be home.
I got up just before 6 and took Bella up to our normal little park. She seemed to be happy to be on her home turf as well.
We sat outside and watched the peeps walking their dogs, riding bike and drinking coffee.
We didn’t want to go to the golf early. So, we decided to take Bella for a walk to the creek. She loved it. She totally recognized where she was and was very happy to be there. She does like Pahrump and our house and walking along the golf course.
We hung out for a little while and then went to the Mountain Falls Grill. They are under new management and they have done some renovation to it. They are turning the bar area into a casino. Not sure if it is just going to be machines or tables as well. Right now they have just completed the building renovations turning it into three separate rooms.
They also changed their menu and of course their prices. It used to be the Breakfast brunch was $9.00 for eggs or omelette to order waffle, potatoes, bacon or sausage, fruit, pastries. And then you could get mimosas or bloody Marys for $1.00 each until 2 pm. In the past we would have brunch, go play golf and I would get my second Bloody Mary at the turn.
Well now they are called the $5, $10, $15 grill. Their menu has either one $, two or three and you pay 5, 10 or 15. Their brunch is now $15.00 per person and includes one mimosa or Bloody Mary per person. Way to expensive for what you get. Too bad, we wont be frequenting it so much any more. Also, the bar tender was different and the Bloody Mary was not very good at all. I had one with breakfast and then Rob gave me his to take with me to play golf.
We were still to early for our tee time, but I talked Skip into letting us go out early and starting on 10 rather that one. He was hesitant, but finally let us go. So, we were able to start at 10:10 rather that 10:50. It was great. We didn’t have to wait for anyone and no one had to wait for us. First time we didn’t have to wait on this course. They have a habit of starting everyone to close together and so you end up having to wait on every hold. Not so today. But it was hot. Especially for Bella. Rob wanted to play another 9, and Bella and I were going to go home and chill then come back to get him, but they wouldn’t let Rob go out right away, they were going to make him wait 30 min, so he said forget it.
We went into town to buy some beer and food for dinner. We also both got hair cuts. I hate getting hair cuts. I don’t have a regular person, because we aren’t in one place long enough. I take a picture in with me and say, “can you do this”. They always say sure and then cut away and I end up getting butchered and it doesn’t look anything like the cut I asked for. I need to be a bit more direct. Can you do this, if not lets look for something else, instead of getting butchered and then having to pay them for doing it to me.
We went back to the house and fixed a nice crispy chicken with rice and roasted broccoli. It was from Fresh Chef and it was good.
We watched so Great Loop videos on You Tube by this couple who are doing the Loop now and calling it Yacht to Do. They are sharing their experiences along the way, plus answering questions that people are writing in to them about different stuff. It was fun and informative and making me really, really look forward to doing it.
I did laundry again and then we went to bed fairly early so we can get an early start tomorrow.
