TUESDAY, 8 SEPTEMBER, 2020; LONG BEACH, CA

 Tuesday, 8 September, Long Beach

It is much cooler this morning, but overcast.  It doesn’t feel nearly as humid as it did yesterday.

Bella and I walked around the RV Park then we came in for coffee.  The office opened at 7:30.  Rob went over to ask if we could park one of the vehicles across the way.  They said no! So, we have my car and Rob’s Prius parked along the side of the RV and there is no place for us to sit outside. He also asked if we could stay here longer than the one week.  They said we could stay one more night, but we would have to move.  Forget that!

We drove over to LAX to work on the Titanium.  It is really filthy inside and out.  I opened the freezer and about fell over from the smell.  OMG, I have never smelled anything like it.  It smelled like a mouse died in there and like 5 other mice peed on it just to make sure it was dead.  The refrigerator wasn’t a whole lot better.  That was my project.

We opened all the windows and door and I started in with pine-sole   In hindsight, I wish I had used watered down bleach, because the pine-sole seemed to add badly to the smell.  Not to mention I couldn’t get the smell out of my hands for the rest of the day and night.

A couple came to look at it and loved it, but they wanted to look further.  We continued to clean.  We finally got the inside done about noon, 4 hours after starting.  I went off to Ralph’s and Rob took the RV off to get it washed.  I bought  baking soda boxes to put in the freezer and one in the refrigerator as well as odor eliminator that I sprayed in both and throughout the RV.

I also bought stuff for lunch.  We parked the RV back and left the windows open.  It looks so much better both inside and out now.  I just hope the smell goes away.

We went back to the RV park and fixed lunch.  We ate and then paid bills.  We are just a bit late on them.

After ward we went for a walk.  I thought it was going to just be a short walk so I only had flip flops on and they don’t stay on my feet very well.

As it turned out, we walked all the way over to and through the Long Beach Harbor.  We say the American Pride Sailing Vessel and Rob caught it with both the Catalina Express (takes peeps out to Catalina Island) and the Queen Mary. How cool is that?!

We continued around  the harbor.

Across the street is a lagoon and they rent paddle boats.  They are so cute.  They are shaped like swans.

I wanted a cocktail so we decided to try one of the outdoor restaurants.  We stopped at The Chart house but they had a 2 hour wait. We stopped in at another, but they had an hour.  Finally we stopped in at Shenanigans.  They sat us right away on their harbor-side patio. I had a margarita and Rob had a beer.  There were a lot of people gathered at the railing and Rob finally went over to see what they were all looking at.  Two men in a fishing boat below were filleting fresh caught, Blue Fin Tuna as everyone watched.

The people at the restaurant told us we had to order food in order to sit out on their deck with a cocktail.  I wonder who’s rule that is.  So, we ordered calamari.  And along with it we enjoyed a second drink and Bella on my lap because she is so sweet.
After we finished our food and beverages we checked on the fishing boat again.  They had finished filleting the two fish.  It was a hired fishing charter.  The single man paid $2000. for the day. The limit is two fish per person.  They filleted 400 lbs of tuna from the two fish.  The man gave the guys 150 lbs.  Wow!
They were pretty big fish as you can see by their heads.  I’m not sure what they are going to do with the heads.!

From there we walked a little further.  They were having a gender reveal party on one of the boats and I wanted to check it out.

They hired a helicopter to fly over and blow smoke to reveal the gender.  We waited around to see it as well.  Funny thing was, they waited until dusk, and with the overcast the smoke came out purple and no one was really sure what the gender was.  But, a man next to us worked for the helicopter company and he confirmed that the smoke was indeed PINK.  Everyone was tickled......pink.  It looked like a very fun party.
We walked back to the RV park, watched the Lakers win their game and then watched the rest of American Sniper and then went to bed.

The couple who looked at the RV never got back to us as to wether or not they wanted it.
