THURSDAY, 10 SEPTEMBER 2020; LONG BEACH, CA

 Thursday, 10, September

I woke up this morning to fog horns.  I heard them yesterday morning as well.  I love fog horns and buoy bells.  Unlike yesterday, I was quite surprised to open the door this morning when taking Bella out to see thick fog.  Ahh, coastal fog.

We have plans to play golf today and then cocktails with our friends Debbie and Bruce.  They are the ones who had their boat, their Ranger Tug, up in Gig Harbor.  They trailered it back down for the winter and now have it in San Pedro.

Tomorrow we are getting together with Rich and Darleen.  They were also up in Gig Harbor and are now back home.

We left a little early for golf so we could go by Alright alright alright.  Rob couldn’t remember if we were current on or Teton as well as his scooter registrations.  Since we are away from home we can’t check our files or the plates.  As it turned out, they are both current. Good job!

We played golf at Heartwell Golf Course.  What a rugged course. It is an eighteen hole, par three.  It’s pretty open and very cheep, so it was super crowded.  We had to wait on every hole on the front nine.  The back nine was a bit less crowded. The three guys in front of us were smoking so much pot I swear we got a contact high.  The course was in horrible shape and they didn’t have any food or anything.  I was starving and was really hoping for a hot dog.

After golf we decided to go to Costco for a few items.  First item on the list was that hot dog.  They had their food bar outside so we ate before we even went in.

After Costco we went back to the rig to put everything away.

We headed over to San Pedro  to Camarillo Marina.  We met up with Bruce and Debbie and their two dogs (Sweet Pea and June Bug) and went down to their boat. They told us all about their journey down from Anacortes trailering their boat. 1300 miles.  Their boat is 29’ and is a wide or rather “Oversized” load on the trailer.  The first night they stayed in a rest stop and said it was horrible.  They were naturally in the truck parking side and they said all night long the trucks were either coming or going or running their motors.  They said it was so noisy they hardly got any sleep.  The next night they stayed in an RV Park. That night they were “boater Homing”. Because instead of sleeping in a motor home RV. They were sleeping in their boat.

It would be pretty crazy to have these guys pull in next to you in an RV Park!

Anyway.  We had a nice visit with them. Their boat will be here in the Marina for the next 5 months.  When they are not on their boat they are back at the Ranch. Rancho California RV Park where we also live.

While we were visiting a couple seals came to play in the water near their boat.  They told us that a little while before we got there 4 dolphins were swimming by.  That would have been fun.

We headed back to our place.  We were hoping to watch the first game of the 2020 NFL season which was supposed to be aired on CBS, but it wasn’t there  very disappointing  I always look forward to football season  it will be especially difficult this year with the pandemic  Sports bars will be limited and I’m not sure how safe they would be.  Also, not sure if there will be fans at the games.  I don’t care so much about that, I just want to be able to watch the Raider and the Seahawk games.

We went to bed
