Saturday, 16 September; Last day in Ft Drum.

It's warm and humid again this morning.  Things are very damp as well.
When Rob finally got home he wanted to work out, so he went off to the gym.  I was all showered and ready to go so I stayed back and waited for him.
There are two festivals today.  One is the Cream Cheese festival in Lowville which is about 30 miles away. They are supposed to have a giant Cheesecake and other cream cheese stuff, and the other is an Italian Festival in Watertown.  This one actually started yesterday and ends tonight.
Since the Cream Cheese Fest was supposed to end at 6 pm we went there first.
It is a really pretty area.  We found the little town and the fest and parked.  As we were walking we came upon this beautiful home.  I love the paint.  There are lots of homes like this in the area.

There are always amazing details to the paint and decorations, and so many of them are huge.
There are also lots of pretty gardens and lovely flowers.  At first I thought these were roses (I immediately thought of my Mom) but as it turns out, they are Dahlias. I prefer them (no thorns).
We got to the festival and wandered around.
I was actually quite disappointed.  I never saw the cheese cake or even any remnants of it.  They had had various activities involving cream cheese, but we missed all those.  One activity were were present for was the molding contest.  The contestants were given an 8" x 8" block of cream cheese.  They had 40 minutes to create something with them.  There were feathers, food coloring, glitter and other things they could use as well. We saw the start and then wandered off and then returned for the final creations.
This mouse and it's cheese were definitely our favorite. Especially with its little bite out of the cheese.

This wedding cake was cute.  Good idea!
 There were two Sponge Bobs

Not really sure what this one is.  Frog?  But what about the ears?  Oh, perhaps that is supposed to be a crown .  A Frog Prince?!
We wandered back to the car and headed back to Watertown for the Italian Fest. We were both hungry and looking forward to a little bit of Italian something or other, sausage?, meatballs?
Well, it was another disappointment.  They had some hamburger, pizza and the fest had certainly ended.
We stopped by a liquor store.  It is funny here in this area of New York.  They have a liquor store that sells hard liquor, mixers, and wine, but you have to go next door to buy wine or hard cider.  So, we split up.  I went after Margarita and Rob went after beer.
Right across the street was KFC.  Perfect.  We stopped in there for a 12 piece chicken tenders, coleslaw, biscuits and green beans and headed for home.
We watched the last quarter of the Florida Gators vs Tennessee Volunteers football game while we ate.  When we started watching Tennessee was down by a bunch, so we started rooting for them.  Well, then came back with a vengeance and tied up the game.  We were pretty sure it was going to go into overtime because there was only about 5 seconds left in the game.  Wellllllll.......In that last 5 seconds, Florida's quarterback threw a Hail Mary.  A 75 ish Yard pass into the end zone and hit his man.  It was an amazing throw and a beautiful catch for a winning touchdown.  WOW!!
After that Rob went to bed and I watched NCIS and then went to bed myself.
