Saturday, 9 September; Ft Drum, NY

It is definitely fall.  It is kinda nice actually.  It feels ok to need to be in long pants, long sleeves, and sweats in the fall.
Anyway, we decided to go explore.

We are the blue dot at Watertown.  You can see that we are near Lake Ontario, Canada, and not all that far from Vermont.
We are on Fort Drum (again, the blue dot).  We drove to Watertown today and checked it out.

They were having a little Fall Festival.  We bought some yummy dips and some cookies there.  Then we walked down to the River Walk.  Some rafters were getting ready to head on out and hit the rapids.
We watched them for a little bit as they hit the first two little rapids.

They are going to go on down the river for about 11 miles and hit some level 3 and 4 rapids.  I do not like those kinds of rapids.

This one is actually above where they started.
After watching them for a bit we went back to the car and headed over to Sackets Harbor.  We had lunch at the Brewery there and then wandered around there.  It has a war of 1812 historic battleground.  We wandered around it for a little while as well.
From there we went up to Cape Vincent.  We stopped in at a winery.  There are tons around this area, so we stopped in there and tasted.  Some it was interesting and even tasty.  But it was definitely not what we are used to in California.
We decided that was enough for one day so we headed on home again.
We got back to the rig, had some dinner, watched some TV and went to bed.
Oh, the cold weather is definitely helping the fall colors around here.  We are starting to notice more reds.
