Tuesday, 12 Sept, Fort Drum and Watertown, NY

So today I decided to be a bit more productive and active.  After my coffee and news viewing I took Bella out for a quick walk.  Then I put her back and jogged over to the gym.  It is about 1.5 miles.  Once at the gym I got a tour of the place and then settled in to a good upper body work out.  It was good to get back into a gym with all their good machines.  After about 30 min I jogged back to the rig.  I was feeling pretty good about myself for getting it done.
I took a shower and then set off to get things accomplished.  I have a big list. 3 post offices, bike shop, PX and commissary. I discovered that one of our propane tanks was empty so on my jog over to the gym I stopped in at the RV office and found out where I could get it filled.  But, I don't want to drive around all day with a tank in my car.  So, I decided not to take it to get it filled today.  It is not critical.
I drove into Watertown and went to the post office there.  I picked up our forwarded mail from Pahrump.  Next I went to the bike shop.  Remember, Rob hit a tree on his mountain bike and his front wheel is no longer a true circle.  I figured I would just drop it off, but when I got there the gal said she could fix it right now if I wanted to wait. I was starving so I told her I'd go get a bite to eat and then come back.
Bella and I waked over to the Crystal Diner.  It is one of the oldest in the area.  It is a long room with booths down both sides and tables down the middle.  They have a bar with an original cash register.  The booths are wooded and the tables are so old that the color is only visible around the edges. It had a really tall ceiling which made it echoey.  There was a group of probably 20 seniors celebrating some end-of-season something-or-other so it was quite loud in there.  Poor Bella pressed herself up against the wall under the table.  I had a salad.
The wheel was ready when I got back so I grabbed it and left Watertown.  I drove back to base.  I stopped by the Base post office where I was supposed to pick up a pkg from Katy at General Delivery, but they do not do general delivery.  Anything they receive they send back.  Next I went over to Outdoor Rec.  There we are supposed to be able to receive UPS packaged and I did pick up one for Rob.  I also have two packages coming, but they won't be there until Thursday.  That is why I decided not to fill the propane tank today.  The place I have to take it is right across the street from Outdoor Rec and since I have to come back on Thurs that would be an excellent time to get the tank filled.
Anyway, from there I drove around lost for a little while trying to find my way to the PX.  I finally found it.
I bought a pair of black jeans, a skort, a top and some hair clips.  My hair is growing out to the point that it is falling in my face and driving me crazy.  I have a ton of hair clips and stuff, but unfortunately they are in the Teton and not doing me any good here, so I had to buy some more.
We threw all those goodies in the car and then walked over to the commissary which is right next door.
I got lost again on the way back to the RV park.  This is a simple base, I don't know why I keep getting lost.
I finally made it home.  I put things away and made a pan of ground turkey, eggs and green beans for Bella.  That will be her food for the next two weeks since she won't eat any dog food.  Then I made a salad for me and settled in to my favorite programs on TV.
