Belmont, MA
We woke up early this morning because the girls were really excited about exploring with us today. We ate a little breakfast, packed up all our gear and hit the road. We were out by 8:40. First stop was the Seville. We wanted to leave YumYum back in her little house, feed her, and then I had to print out some escrow documents and send them back to the agents. It took a little while.
We finally left the Seville at about 10:45. We headed to concord and started looking for geocaches. The first one was a two parter. We had to follow the coordinates to the Concord Cemetery. There we had to look around for the tomb of famous authors. We found Louisa May Alcott. From there we had to go to the Library and try to find a book with a cache in it. It turned out we had the wrong author. We finally figured out it was Henry David Thoreau and eventually found the cache. It was really fun. From there we went to a Pizza place and had lunch.
We found the next two of them pretty easily. Lauren found the first one in the hollow of a tree and took a Sacagawea dollar coin. Grace picked a flashing light for her bike. We left a couple Air Force coins and a square nail. The next was super easy. The 4th was quite difficult. In fact we tried from three different angles and still didn’t find it. We found a 4th point to try but decided we were to cold and tired so we will try it again tomorrow. We could not find the cache, but Lauren found a 50 dollar bill under the truck as she was getting in!
We went back to our little house, and fed the Yumster. The girls both completed their math packets while Rob took care of some business and I fixed spaghetti. We finally ate, cleaned up and then played. Rob and the girls played 5000. (after I taught them how) I worked on catching up on the journal (I was three days behind)
We had sliced strawberries, cookies and a little pound cake for dessert, finished the game and went to bed.
A very full day.
