Mystic, Connecticut

65° & somewhat humid

Slept very well and slept in. Had breakfast and then went out exploring. We parked at the Mystic Village which is a little center of unique shops. I wanted to do a little Christmas shopping. They did have some very cute shops with fun stuff.

Rob walked from there down to the Mystic Seaport. It is a restored port with all the original shops and everything when it was active back in the day. Now the whole port is a museum. You can spend an entire day there.

As it turned out, after about 2 ½ hours we were both done. Rob walked back to me and we went into one of the shops called the Blue Squid. It has yummy breads and cheeses and awesome grilled cheese sandwiches. We had a chicken with sliced apples and a lobster. We each ate ½ of each sandwich. They were yummy. From there we went into an Irish shop and Franklin’s General Store which had homemade fudge and a bunch of unique New England soup, dip, biscuit, etc mixes. They had a pumpkin fudge that tasted just like pumpkin pie. Very yummy.

The day is overcast and feels a bit humid. No rain though. We went back to our abode and buttoned it up for departure. We were supposed to be out by 2:00pm and at 1:54 we drove through the gate. We have what is supposed to be a 2 hour drive over to the Cape. We will see how long it really does take us.

So, we arrived at the Cape Cod RV resort at 4pm. We checked in and got our assigned space. She showed us where it was on the map and off we went. We followed her directions perfectly but low and behold, we were required to back up a big hill and there was no way we were going to be able to do it. So, we drove around and looked for another site. We found one we liked so I ran off to the office. It turned out the site we want doesn’t have any electricity. She gave us three others to try so off we went again. We chose a nice long one. We had to wiggle and jiggle to get in and allow the water to reach. (We need a longer hose). We set everything up moi rapido! Then, we cleaned house. It had been a while. It is amazingly faster to clean this house than the Tahoe house. I choose this one!

So now we are snuggled in for the night with the fire blazing, the golf channel playing and cocktails flowing (We did eat dinner already so it’s ok that the cocktails are flowing). Tomorrow we will explore various parts of the cape!
