Lake of the Ozarks Recreation Area
Fort Leonard Wood, MO
We slept in. Rob immediately started fiddling with the truck/RV power cord situation, but really couldn’t do much except see what is working and what is not. One of the major things that is not working is the RV brakes. Not good. It is Sunday and everyone we called is closed. So, what else can we do but go Golf!
We played golf at what I think is the most beautiful course I have ever played. It is called “The Golf Club at Deer Chase” in Linn Creek, Mo. It is just beautifully green, surrounded by big trees that are just starting to turn, rolling hills and big lakes. Not an easy course mind you, but very, very pretty. It was really exactly what we needed. We played as a twosome with no one ahead of us and no one behind us. No one pushing so we were able to relax and enjoy the game. It was the first time in a long time that we weren’t rushing or pushing as we have been in this crazy move and journey across the country to enjoy the East Coast. It was really nice and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We didn’t play all that bad as well.
Prior to our departure for golf we moved from a boring parking lot site to a wooded site with a view of the lake. It will be very nice to enjoy our morning coffee by the lake tomorrow. We fixed a nice dinner and then worked on our route from here for the next couple of days. We have two more days of driving cross country and then we will spend three nights in the Cape Cod area before going up to Boston.
We were both pretty wiped out by the time we finished this project, and discovered that is was past 11:30 as well. Way past our bedtime.
It was a wonderful and relaxing day. Current temperature here in Linn Creek, MO is 47°.
