June 11th Klamath River, CA to Whaler's Rest, South Beach, OR

It was slightly foggy this morning when we got up.  It is so pretty with wisps of  fog moving over the river.  We drank a cup of coffee and then started moving.  We had actually packed all the outside stuff and stowed most of the inside stuff last night.  Just a few more things to do and we hit the road just before 8 am.  It was such a pretty drive.
We hit the border of Oregon at 9:10. I welcomed Bella to Oregon and texted Rob! Sorry Mom!
We had pulled the Reader's digest out, "The Most Scenic Drives in America"  and look at the route we would be covering.  With a 5 hour drive ahead of us and pulling the rig, there weren't to many places we were planning on stopping.
There were some lighthouses that I really wanted to go and check out, but when it actually came to driving I couldn't remember where they were.
It was a really beautiful day and the coast was so pretty.
I especially like everything north of Coos Bay.
I pulled off into a couple turn outs to take some quick pictures, of the beaches and coast line, but I didn't want to get to far behind Rob.

I did all off into a little town and they were having a farmer's market so I whizzed through it real quick like a bunny, but for the most part I followed Rob
There were a bunch of cute little fishing towns.

Coos Bay seems to be a big lumber town.  Piles of logs and chips.

North of that you get into the Sand Dunes.  Some of them look like ski runs with lines of trees in-between the runs.
At one point i even saw a couple of something or others going down from the top to the bottom.  It was too far off to tell what it was tho.  On one hill as I passed I saw some sort of motorized vehicle; perhaps a buggy or more likely a rail.
I passed large bodies of water that I wasn't sure weather it was a lake or river.  There are both up here along the coast.  I know we did cross over the Rogue River, Elk River, Siuslaw, and Coquille River.  And then there are the giant bays Coos, Winchester, and Alsea. They are all beautiful.
I pulled off to see a Lighthouse at Umpqua State Park, but only stopped long enough to snap a couple pictures of the beach, lighthouse in the distance and the beautiful bridge.  It is at Winchester Bay

I caught up to Rob in the town of Florence.  It was really just by chance.  I happened to call him and asked where he was and he said  in Florence.  I was just entering Florence.  I asked where and he said at 76.  As we were exchanging those 3 sentences I drove up on him.  I would have missed him if I hadn't called.
We followed along a little together and then I pulled off again and caught him as he was checking in to The Whaler's Rest.
We found a spot, backed in a got all hooked up, slid out, grabbed a bite to eat and then went for a walk.  For some reason Rob was frazzled, and Bella was so upset she wouldn't get out of the car, and even when I took her into the rig she ran out again.  Not sure what that was about, but we all definitely needed to go for a walk.

We walked back to the rig and grabbed the car and decided to go exploring.  We drove up to Newport to get some gas in the car and to check things out.

We came upon the Yaquina Bay Light house.  It was closed so we couldn't tour.

But the Bay is beautiful and the Bridge crossing it is very pretty as well

We returned to the rig, fixed dinner and watched a movie.  Rob has to get up early tomorrow.  He has decided he is going to drive up to Portland and fly out of there in the morning.  There are a lot more flights to LAX from there and on Wednesday I am moving the RV up there so it will be easy when he finishes his trip
