We actually hit the road by 8:30. Rob left with the rig and Bella and I went in the car.
She and I stopped at Acme Bakery. It is the yummiest bread ever. We bought mules ears and a loaf of Sour Batard. Yum.
We drove to Petaluma Coast Guard Training Station. It is out west of Petaluma almost to Tomales Bay. It's dairy country and there are a bunch of hay farmers out there as well. It is beautiful rolling hills. Especially this time of year, the hills are golden and green.
I pulled in to the Petaluma Coast Guard Training Center and let them check my ID. I asked where to go for the RV park and where to check in. I was told just keep going straight until you see the park. I was told to check in at the Gym.
So, I drove through the base. It's really nice. Nice modern buildings, fire station, big gym and pool, Exchange, all within the rolling hills. I drove through the housing area and out to a really pretty pond, and then the RV Park. It is really small with concrete pads. There were a couple (3) rigs out there, but no Rob. I called and he said he was on base, on Colorado Street dumping. There are no hook-up at Moran Drive.
So, I went to the gym to sign us in only to be told it was at the Hub in the library. No worries, it's right next door. I went in and was told check-in wasn't until 1:30 it was only 10:30. I said, Hmmm what should I do with our big ole RV while we wait. He said will I can check and see if there are any open spots. I told him I was just out there and that there were. He said OK, and checked me in. He told me I could take any open spot except # 6. The last person there drove away without disconnecting their power from the box and pulled the whole box off the post. Eww, not good.
I drove back out and found Rob still at the dump spot. We chatted a bit and then I drove out to the park and pulled into what I believe to be the perfect spot. There were three rigs out there and three open spots, but one was the dreaded # 6. It is a horse shoe road with 3 spots on the outer edge and 3 on the inside. They have a picnic table and fire ring with bar-b-q in the grassy area and curved concrete for the rig and your patio.
I chatted with a man named Howard. He and his wife are up from San Diego for their granddaughter's graduation from San Francisco State. They are traveling for 2 months. They are leaving here tomorrow.
I called to check on Rob ad he was on his way. He pulled in and we set things up and then packed our bags and hit the road.
We drove, for what seemed forever, to Chico. We stopped in Rohnert Park at a UPS store and picked up a package for Rob, he had ordered some RV lightbulbs and a few other things from Amazon, and then continued on our way. The drive was pretty. We went the back way through Middletown (they had a huge fire last year) and Clear Lake.
We arrived at the Marriott in Chico at 4:00. Graduation was at 6pm Rob took Bella out for a walk while I took a shower.
We got there at 5:30 just in time for pictures with all the graduates and staff.

After graduation many of us went to an Italian Restaurant for dinner. It was fun. By the time we got back to the hotel and took little Bella for a walk I was done. The bed was definitely calling my name.
