Friday, 1 December; North Carolina to South Carolina.

Since we went to bed early last night we woke up early.  Not only naturally, I was awake, but Rob also set an alarm for 5:55 because the Iridium Flare was going to be going over at 6.  It is a satellite that is in your vision for about 15 seconds.  In the middle of it it gets really bright and then fades away again.  The brightness is due to the sun hitting it just perfectly.
Anyway, we got up and went outside and found it and watched it then came back inside and had our coffee.
By 9:00 we were both on the road.  We are moving to a U S Marine base on Paris Island, South Carolina.  It is almost half way between Charleston and Savannah.  It is actually closer to Savannah (48 miles) and really close to Hilton Head Island  (35).
Unfortunately, it is a 4.5 hour drive between here and there.  Yuk!
It was a long drive today and I was getting sooooo very sleepy.  I was ahead of Rob and I kept wanting to pull over and take a nap.  But, I kept on going.
I got to the park at about 1:40.  I was trying to figure out where to check in.  I found that I was supposed to call, so I did.  The man said just pick a spot, hook up and go about your vacation.  I called Rob to find out where he was and he told me he was about 30 min away.
Bella and I drove down to the water and then back to the spot we selected and waited for Rob.  After parking and setting everything up we went for a walk.
We walked down to the water.  It is apparently part of Broad River which dumps into the Atlantic.  It just looks like a big ole Bay.  There is a big loop that is a couple miles long.  We didn't measure it, but we did walk it.  Perhaps I will ride it on my bike and find out exactly.
We got back and we started to put things out to sit outside, but it was really buggy so we changed our mind.
I fixed some Fajitas.  We ate and watched the news and then watched a movie.  "The Light Between Oceans"  We listened to the book together and really enjoyed it.  The movie was really good as well.  They did a very nice job with it.
I worked on a Christmas project while watching.
The movie ended and Rob went to bed.  I stayed up and watched Hawaii 5' 0 and Blue bloods so that I could finish what I was doing.
