11 JUNE LOCH LOMOND SAN RAFAEL TO DELTA MARINA, PITTSBURG.

 MONDAY 11 JUNE

We got up fairly early thinking that we needed to get under way.  But in actuality we had to wait for the tides.  We followed the channel out into the Bay .  We were heading to Napa, but just before hitting Vallejo Napa called us and said the bridge leading into Napa was under repair and would not be opening today.  So, we had to come up with a new plan.  We wanted to go to Benicia but they didn’t have and room for us so  we decided to go to Pittsburg instead.

It was so smooth.  We were only going about 10 knots and it was lovely not being out in the ocean with the waves and wind and spray.  this was just gentle and lovely.

We went under the Benicia bridge at about 9:49

Below are various things we passed along the way.

And finally made it to the Delta Marina in Pittsburg.

The marina is nice; but it’s hot.  92 degrees when we got there.  The dock was so hot it was burning my feet.

Right away we put the paddle boards in the water and went for a paddle.  It felt good.  We also went for a swim which is the first opportunity we have had to do so.  It’s so nice that it is river water rather than ocean water;  warmer and not salty.
We paddled over to the Pittsburg Yacht club.  It is really pretty in there. The club was not open,  We paddled around where all the houses have their own docks.  It reminds me of Huntington Harbor, but these are condos, all the same; rather than the giant mansions in Huntington
