WEDNESDAY 12 JUNE
It’s a lovely sunny day. Rob checked with the Harbor Master and found that they have a covered slip available for the winter. Actually starting on July 15th. It’s only $520 a month which is about $700. Less per month than what we were paying in San Pedro. It even includes electricity. There were two available so we got in the dinghy to go check them out. The river is really rough and it is really windy today.
The covered slips were inside the Yacht Club marina. It is actually part of Pittsburg Marina, but it is where the Yacht Club is located so that’s why we call it that. Anyway, we decided on slip #2. It’s closest to the ramp to take Bella ashore for potty breaks.
When we got back we met some nice people from Fresno. They keep their boat here and come up every other week or so. They and two other boats came in from Sausalito. They said the Bay was super rough. Windy with big waves. Yuk.
Rob rode his bike over to 24 hour workout for a good work out and back.I stayed behind and worked on the blanket I’m making for Marc and Teresa.
We are located right near the fuel dock so we get to see all the boats that come in for fuel; Like Solono County’s fire and Rescue boat .
Or the Military Police Boat
Other interesting boats came and went as well as giant boats passing cruising up the Sacramento River outside the marina.
THURSDAY, 16 JUNE
We rode our bikes 16 miles checking out the town and going to Safeway and back. We stopped at a Mexican Cantina for lunch. It was yummy.
When we got back to the boat we called for an Uber who took us to a cannabis store. I have resorted to taking gummies at night to help me sleep. I was running low. Now that Rob has retired he has started using them to sleep as well.
From there we walked to Costco then walked to West Marine where we bought a 20 lb stern anchor and a tether ball. The tetherball is to tie onto the stern anchor so it floats indicating that we have an anchor in the water so no one will cut between the rear of our boat and the anchor fowling them or cutting our line.
We got another Uber and went back to the boat.
FRIDAY 17 JUNE
Our friends Dave and his wife Laurie were supposed to come to the boat for dinner, but they were unable to make it. Also, Dave and Rob were supposed to do a ride, but that didn’t happen either. So it was a workout, paddle board and swim day. We went for a nice walk and took pictures around the marina.
We went to the Brew Pub for dinner.
SATURDAY 15 JUNE
Dave and Rob did get to go for a bike ride. Dave came to the marina and picked Rob up and took him away for a mountain bike ride. Rob used my e-bike rather than his because he knew there was going to be a bit of climbing involved.
The three of us went back to the Brew Pub for a late lunch, early dinner. Dave left and Rob and I went to the local Community Theater and saw a play. It was a Neil Simon Screenplay. 1972 about two legendary (and cranky) comics brought together for a reunion and revival of their famous act. It was fun. They were very cranky
