The Jeep needs an oil change and it has a “check engine light” on so we decided it would be a good thing to take it in for service. Also the right headlight keeps going out. It has a bad connection.
It is supposed to be hot again today so we thought it would be nice to go up to higher elevation and go for a hike.
We dropped the Jeep off and then headed up to Sisters State Park.
We found a place to park and then walked to the trail head. We did a really nice,2-mile, level walk around Todd Lake. Apparently there are tadpoles and frogs in the lake because there are signs posted asking you not to remove them.
It was really prettyThere were a lot of people and dogs, hiking and several people fishing. It reminded me a lot of the meadow hike up on Mt. Rose in Tahoe. We used to go there a lot with Geh-Yo, our wolf dog. She loved it.
Bella liked it quite a bit as well. After the two miles around we wanted to hike more so we headed up a trail that had the potential of going 7 miles to another lake. That was a bit much, but we did go 1.2 up to a nice view of Broken Top Mountain.
The 1.2 back down was brutal on my knees. Going up hill is tiering, but down hill just becomes painful. 4.6 miles total by the time we got back to the truck. We were tired.
We drove up to Mt Bachelor, just to check it out. Then we drove through Sunriver on the way back. It is a real cute little suburb of Bend. We think it might be an HOA or resort community, but really don’t know a whole lot about it.
We got back and had some lunch. Rob decided a nap was in order and I played on the computer.
We went out again. I wanted to go to JoAnn’s for a little crafting project. I also wanted to go to Kohl’s for some new bathing suit tops. We needed to go to Trader Joe’s as well. Its nice being in a big town that has everything you need in a local area.
We came back and Rob went for a bike ride again. He trying to get some cardio in as well as get into better bike shape.
We had dinner and then watched the latest episode of Yellowstone. I think there is only one episode left of this season. I hate it when the season ends and you have to wait for months for the new one to begin. I do know that they are in Darby, MT right now filming Season 4. I’d love to go back there and see it while they are filming. That would be awesome. Season 4 is supposed to be mostly filmed in Montana. The others were mostly filmed in Utah, except for the home and barn scenes.
