SATURDAY, 8 AUGUST 2020, GIG HARBOR, WA

It is overcast again this morning, but no rain is forecast so it will probably clear us.

Rob is on the road already and should be here around 3;30.  I changed the sheets on the bed and headed down to the laundry to wash them.  I came back and read for a bit.

Bella keeps looking at me like “really, we are going to spend the whole day sitting on the couch reading again?”  Ok, we wont, so I grabbed a zip lock bag and we walked over to the trail that runs behind us just outside the RV park.  We stopped and picked black berries.  They are everywhere.  Some of them are so ripe that when you touch one the three surrounding it fall off.  It did not take long at all to pick a half gallon.

We got back and I checked on Rob’s progress.  I was happy to see he was in Gig Harbor.  He’ll be home real soon.  Sure enough, when i checked again he was entering the RV park.  He drove up, got out and was very stiff after the long drive.  He unpacked and I asked him if he felt like walking after the long drive.  He did so we walked to the harbor.

We walked through a nice park and Estuary.  It had signs telling all about the history and the critters and everything.  It was nice.  We walked down to the dock to see what boats were parked there.  Nothing exciting.  We stopped in at the brewery and split a beer sitting on the patio overlooking the water.

From there we walked to Anthony’s on the other side of the Harbor.  Did I tell you I have bad knees?! Yup, they were killing me with all the walking on concrete and asphalt.

We only had about a 10 minute wait at Anthony’s before being seated on their deck.  We got to watch kayakers and seals in the water.  We had third yummy crab artichoke dip and split a spinach salad.  Then we split a peach slump.  It was marvelously delicious.

We walked back.  By the time we got back my knees were throbbing and I had a killer, pounding headache.  I tried to read, but ended up going to bed at about 7 pm.
