WEDNESDAY, 5 AUGUST 2020; GIG HARBOR, WA

What a beautiful morning.  Sunny right out of the gate.
We weren’t sure what we were going to do about going back to Nevada.  It was all dependent on whether or not they were going to have to keep the rig over night or not.
The new truck has to go back to Nevada to be registered.  It has to have a VIN inspection which has to be done there.  Also, Rob has to pick up the pick slips for the old truck to give to Lawrence to give to the buyer.
If the rig was going to be in the shop overnight we wouldn’t have a place to sleep, so the plan was that I would drive back as well, driving the Jeep and we would then leave the Jeep in Pahrump and drive back here together in the truck.
As it turned out, since the rig was finished Rob would drive back to Pahrump and I would stay here.
He left at 7 am.
I paid bills and then took Bella for a walk.
After that, I fixed her bike basket.  I was able to do part of it on my sewing machine, but the sewing it back onto the basket had to be done by hand.  It went quite smoothly which was surprising.
I didn’t have much to do after that so I read.  I have a Loop book witch are a bunch of short stories about various women’s experiences while doing the loop.  Many of them knew nothing about boating and this was a totally new and in the beginning very nerve wracking experience for them.  The stories are funny things that happened, or how they overcame their anxieties, or things (crafts or cooking projects) they did to keep themselves entertained.  They are fun to read.
I am also reading “power boating for dummies” hoping to learn some things.  I am totally excited about doing the loop, but anxious about my lack of boating experience and knowledge as well.
Darlene texted and said ok, we are going to town now.
We went to the Mexican Restaurant down the road for lunch.  They had a really nice patio, great margaritas and good food.  Way to much food as usual with a Mexican restaurant. The poor gal was there by herself initially.  She was hosting, taking orders, making the drinks and serving the food.  Half way through our stay someone came in and started helping her.
After lunch we went into the harbor.  We stopped in at their spice shop.  It is an awesome place.  They have all kinds of olive oils, teas, and spices.  Plus some fun things.  Darleen and Rich had been there before and gotten some homemade jam.  They were hoping the gal that had it would be working there today so they could get some more, but she wasn’t.
We walked up to the little store and then down to the health food store.  They were in search for some hamburger buns.  The little store was out so they had to get carbo-free ones at the health food store.  We’ll see how they taste tonight.
We went back to the park. Darleen went off to do laundry and I went back to read.  We were going to get together and go pick berries, but that didn’t happen.
We all met back and Mike and Marleen's at 6 for dinner. Rob called right about then.  He was safely in a hotel in Winnemucca, NV.  Wow, 12 hour day.  He said he was feeling pretty good.  He will be home in Pahrump tomorrow.
Dinner was turkey burgers and sausage, salads (coleslaw, potatoes, and Mac), and rice crispy treats.  All made by Darleen. Yummy.  It was an early night.  They are all leaving in the morning so they wanted to back up all their outside stuff so they could get an early start.
I went back and read more until bed time.
