TUESDAY, 12 AUGUST 2020; GIG HARBOR AND WEST SEATTLE.

Tuesday, 12 August, Gig Harbor, WA

We had our coffee and then Rob changed the motor/gearbox on the recliners slide.  I fixed us a yummy seafood omelette afterward.

We gathered our stuff and headed over to West Seattle to see my cousins, Ken & Barb Davidson.  I love hanging out with them.  They always make me laugh.  They live in Edmonds, WA but they still have my Uncle’s house and they often go there on the weekends.  Barbara’s parents are in their 90s and live near by in West Seattle so it makes it very convenient to help them out.

We visited with them for a bit and then we all walked down to Lincoln Park.  They are taking care of their son’s family dog Kona.  She is a 15 year old pug gel (pug/beagle) she is very sweet.  Ken drove down knowing that Kona would not be able to walk down the hill, through the park and then back up the hill.  He met us down the hill a ways.  Every time I visited them and my Aunt and Uncle when they were still living, we would walk down to a through Lincoln Park.  It is always nice.

We walked through the park and back then down to the beach by the ferry terminal.  There is a nice sandy beach there.  There are also some cool artsy things there as well.

As predicted, Kona was pretty tired so we had to stop often and let her rest.  Kona’s parents are in Lake Chelan vacationing.  Since Kona’s tongue was hanging out Ken and Barb figured they should show Ty and Sherman how hard they were working with Kona while they were off on vacation.

We finally made it back to the house where we enjoyed snacks and beers on their nice deck.  Later we ordered some pretty good Thai Food and Rob and Ken went to get it.

After dinner we played pinochle.  Ken actually didn’t cheat this time.  It is always entertaining to play.  Rob is the odd man because he is not into cards as much as I am and rarely plays.  He really only ever plays pinochle when we get together with Ken and Barb, so it has been 3 years since he has played.  We ended the game with Rob bidding (reluctantly) making the bid, and then managing to get a double run which virtually won the game.  It was pretty awesome and very exciting for him.
