Friday, 15 July, Leavenworth and Lake Wenachee

Rob and I are getting our annual medical physicals in Tahoe on the 27th and we need to have blood work done.  So, after fasting last night, we went into Leavenworth this morning to have our blood drawn.  Afterward we thought we were going to have breakfast with Ken and Barb, but we got our wires a little crossed. Instead we are going to meet them on the road at 10:00

So, Rob, Bella and I went looking for a nice place to have breakfast.  We ended up at a bun and coffee place and had just so so breakfast burritos.  Bella enjoyed the sunshine.

We walked around a little bit and then went off to meet Ken and Barb.
We all drove up to Wenatchee Lake.  It is real pretty up there, but really, really windy.  We went up there to play golf one more time.  We went to Kahler Glen golf course.  It was really pretty also.  But it was also a bit breezy. The breeze was chili, but the sun was warm
It's funny, we are in the mountains, but it is only about 1100 feet altitude.  Living in Tahoe we were at 7000.  The campground we are staying in received 8 feet of snow this past winter.
Anyway, back to golf.  Here is a funny picture of Ken, or rather a picture of my cousin Ken being funny.

It was actually taken at the course we played on Wed, but we only took one picture on today's course and it is the one above with the pond.
We played 9 holes and then went in and got some lunch.  The restaurant was full of ladies.  It turns out they are all from Edmonton and were staying at the same hotel that Ken and Barb have been staying in.  They came to Leavenworth on a bus to see The Sound of Music which was playing at the amphitheater last night.
We had a nice lunch and then they joined us as Rob and I teed off on the 10th hole.  Sadly, we said good bye there as Ken and Barb are going home now. Boo Hoo.  We have had a fun couple of days with them.
Rob and I finished the round of golf rather quickly.
We drove back to the RV park and were shocked to see the entire meadow full of RVs and tents. They are all here for the weekend.
We grilled some steak and squash, had a quick dinner and then we drove out to the amphitheater  to see tonight's performance of The Sound Of Music.
It really reminded us of the amphitheater at Sand Harbor in Tahoe, except Tahoe has a lot more concessions.  This place sells candy bars, soda, hot chocolate and coffee. That's it! Tahoe has full course meals, desserts, wine, beer, everything.
It was really good.  They have two plays going on right now (Sound of Music and Singing in the Rain) and a third (Beauty and the Beast) starting in a couple weeks.  Our star, Maria, is also staring in Singing in the Rain and is also in Beauty and the Beast. WOW!
The play was really good.  Now I'm going to have to get the movie so we can see all the details that were left out.
After the play we were surprised to see that it was 11 pm.  Bella was very happy to see us.  We went for a quick potty walk and then went to bed.
