Saturday, 21 October

Another beautiful sunny morning.  When I got up anyway.  Rob left at 7:00 to go meet Anne.  i was supposed to go as well, but I still feel lousy.
This morning Dan is racing the Head of the Charles.  He is in a single skull boat.  I told you he has to row backwards.  I'm not sure how long the race is, but he has to make several turns and go under several bridges.  I really wanted to go, but my head is pounding.
He met Anne at her house and then they biked to the river.

They found a place to lock up the bikes and then they walked over to one of the bridges that Dan was going to go under and waited for him.

After that they met up with the girls....
And waited for Dan to come in at the finish line.
Dan finished faster that he hoped to, so he was very happy.
They wandered around a bit and then Rob had to come home.
He took a shower and then Bella and I drove him to the Airport.  He's off for another trip and will be home again Wednesday night.
Bella and I headed for home and then went off on a little detour.  There is a really awesome farm between Bedford and Belmont.  It is wonderful with all kinds of fresh produce, and this time of year they have all the way from very tiny to very giant pumpkins.  The have all kinds of varieties of squash and gourds. They also have a big hay maze for the kids and they had caramel apples, and pies.
I picked up tomatoes, tiny butternut squash, three color cauliflower florets, leeks and red peppers.  Its going to be a healthy couple of days.
On the un-healthy side, we stopped in Lexington and got some frozen yogurt with all kinds of bad things piled on top.  Then we came back to the RV where I put things away and then took a nap.
We went for a walk.  We walked out of the campground and onto the road for just a little ways.  Then we jumped onto the woods trail and followed it through the woods and back into the campground.  Then we walked the perimeter of the campground and back to the rig.  The whole thing was only a mile.
We settled in with TV and dinner and then went to bad.

Friday, 20 October; Belmont, Mass

It is so lovely and warm this morning.  We really enjoyed sitting outside and soaking it up.  Bella loves it as well.
We went to Anne's for a lovely mini family reunion.  She was so sweet to arrange for a luncheon with all the family that is in the area.
That included Clementine and her 6 month old "sack of sugar" Claudelle and her sister Francis.  They are two of the children of Anne & Rob's Uncle Chris.  Chris was their Mother's brother.  He sadly passed away in 2011.

Clementine, Claudelle and Francis
Clementine, Anne and Claudelle
Anne and Rob's Aunt Sengchen and Uncle Tom.  Tom is Rob and Anne's Mother's brother.
Claudelle with Sengchen
Rob and Uncle Tom
Clementine's husband, Adrienne was not able to make it because he had to work.  Also, Dan and Lauren were not able to make it de to school and rowing practice.
We had a wonderful meal and visit.  Grace came home later fro school and joined us which was a treat.
But she had to run off and go pick up her boyfriend's sister, and it is game night for her boyfriend who is a football player.
We even introduced Bella and Claudelle to each other.  They were both pretty unsure of each other, but at the same tim very curious.  it was cute.

We had a wonderful afternoon and visit.
Unfortunately, by the time we got home I was feeling like I was having a relapse on my cold.  Caughing like crazy, sinus headache, etc.  It was horrible.
Rob went off to the gym for a work out and came back with a new stereo system.  Ours died.
I watched a bit of TV but still felt terrible so I went to bed.

Thursday, 19 Oct; Bedford area, Mass

Remember last week we tried to play golf and then ended up getting a rain check?! Well today Rob wanted to try again.  He called several times this morning while we were enjoying our coffee, but no one answered or returned his call.  So we decided to drive over and see if we could get on. As it turned out we could.

It is a nice little course.
It is only 9 holes and is in pretty good shape. Bella, of course rode with us.  She loves that.  We let her out on one hole and she picked up a couple tiny little ticks, so that was the end of that.

We played the 9 holes.  I did really well in the beginning, but by 7 I couldn't hit the ball to save my life.  It is very frustrating.
The colors were pretty so at least it wasn't a total loss.

Originally we had decided that we would play the 9 holes of golf and then go to Boston and do the Jump on Jump off tour.  I believe my Mom and I did it when we were here, but Rob has not done it.
As the time was getting closer we kind of wanted to stay closer to town and check things out here.  So, we decided to come home and get the bikes.  There is a bike trail really close by.  It is the Minute Man Memorial Trail and is another one of those Rail to Trail where it used to be railroad tracks and now they have turned it into a multi-use paved trail.  It is beautiful.
We picked it up out here by Hanscom and rode 10 miles.  We went to and through Lexington and then to and through Arlington and the 10 mile point was at the Alewife T-station.  The "T" is sort of like Bart only more extensive.  We have taken the "T" from the Boston Airport on a couple of trips.
anyway, that was 10 miles so we turned around and then stopped in at a dog park and let Bella run around for a bit.  Then back on the bikes.  We stopped in Lexington and got some frozen yogurt.  It is the same place that Anne and I visited when we were in Lexington.  It's pretty good stuff.
Back on the bikes for the last 3 miles home.
We took showers and headed in to Anne's.  We had a lovely sword fish dinner with her and then drove to Wakefield to listen to Grace and her band perform.  It was really nice.

Bella went with us and when the music started she was really afraid, but then she settled right down and seemed to enjoy it. Grace plays the French Horn.  She isn't into it so much any more.  She is a senior and does not want to continue with it after this year.  She is also in the marching band, but plays the Mellophone.  She doesn't think she will continue with it in college either.
When the concert ended we collected Grace and took her home.  Then we took Anne to the High School to go and pick up her car.  From there we headed home.
The Raiders are playing the Ravens tonight and it is being televised on CBS so we wanted to be home to watch it. The game started at 8 pm and we got home about 9:30. We were both really tired and think we each fell asleep at some point during both the 3rd and 4th quarters.  But wow, what an ending.  The Raiders had been winning, then they were trailing then they were winning and then the Ravens got a touch down and we were trailing by 6.  Oh my God.  In the last minute the Raiders scored, only on review they said he was down at 1/2 foot.  So another play and we caught the ball in the end zone for a touch down, but they said our receiver pushed off another player so the catch did not count and there was a penalty against us so it pushed us back to the 5 yard line.  Then another play and the clock ran out, but it was a penalty against the Ravens so we got to play again even tho there was no time on the clock.  Then we made the touch down which tied up the game, but even though there was no time left on the clock we still got to go for the extra point.  Our kicker had already missed two field goals and this was super important for him to make this extra point..........AND IT'S GOOD!!!!!!The Raiders won by 1 point.  Yippee!! Yippee!  That was sooooo awesome.  We lost last Sunday by one point.  IF we had lost this game it probably would have ended the season for us, but now we are still in it.
After all of that we were pretty wide awake, but we went to bed anyway.

Wednesday, 18 October 2017; Hanscom Air Force Base, Bedford, Mass.

Today is catch-up day.  I have sooooo much laundry to do it'll probably take me a year to get it done.
It is also warm today.
I enjoyed a couple cups of coffee and then got at it.  I changed the sheets and then separated and gathered up all the laundry.  Three big pillow cases full. The laundry is to far to carry it all so I loaded it into the car and drove over.
I asked the gal if she sold toilet paper and unfortunately they don't.  Usually we get it at Walmart because they have an RV section but I have not been able to get to one.  She told me the Commissary sells Scott and it is just fine for RVs.
So, I stuffed all the laundry into there (very full) washers and then went on over to the commissary.  I got the T-paper and some yummy sushi, and, a little bit of Kibble for the Boo.  She is sooooo itchy all the time and I'm afraid it might be due to the chicken treats I'm giving her in the morning.  I want to stop giving them to her, but she is pretty demanding and I suppose I had better find something healthier to take their place.
I came home and grabbed Bella and then we walked over to the Laundry and stuffed everything into 3 driers.  From there we set off for a walk through the woods.  There is a trail behind our campground that head off into three different directions.  We walked through all of them part of it was quite swampy.  It was just about time for the driers to be done so I brought Bella home and then took the car over.  They were not dry so I  put money in all three for another round and then went off to the BX.  I wanted to get a couple of nice tops.  The BX often has fun things.  I did find three I liked and some new bras as well.  I got back in time to fold all the laundry witch took almost an hour.  I had so much stuff that all folded I would have needed 3 baskets to load it all up in.  I only had one so I had to make a couple trips to the car to get it all in.
I came home and put the basket o the bed and put the rest of it away and then took a nap.  The rest can just wait for later.
It was a nice nap.  Then I read for a bit and then I headed off to the Airport to pick up Rob.  I got there about 20 minutes earlier than he did so I sat in the cell phone lot and played on the iPad while waiting.
We came home and watched a bit of TV before going to bed.  It is always better when he is home.

Tuesday, 17 October

We woke up early.  We went downstairs and Rob went after coffee and some breakfast for himself while I took Bella out for a pee.
We went back upstairs and I showered and got dressed.  My appointment is at 9:15 and it is a 40 minute drive with traffic, but Rob's van is taking him to the airport at 8:10.  So we went downstairs and he gathered some fruit for the road and headed out.  I grabbed some breakfast and sat at a table.  Poor Bella was so confused.  She didn't see Rob leave and so she kept looking for him.  Poor thing.
So I headed out and sure enough, there was a ton of traffic.  But it did keep moving along and I had actually left the hotel early so I arrived for my appointment on time.
Hmmmm, their computers are down so they couldn't look up my car's history.  It is in for its regular 5000, mile service, but it has a funny ticking and it has a shimmy.  The other bad news is that they do not have any loaner cars.  Anne has students at her home (yoga) until 11 am, so I was just going to go from Lexus to her house and wait.  But, they said it would probably be about 90 min.  So, no big deal, I'll wait.  At 10:40 they came out and told me I have 2 bent rims.
The road leading out to Great Pond in New Hampshire had been worked on and there were several ruts all the way across the road.  Before I saw anything I hit one of the ruts doing about 30 miles an hour.  It was "Ka'Bam".  Well, that is why it was shimmying and I hit the rut straight so got both front wheels.  Such a drag.  I have wheel and tire Insurance so now they have to call and see if they are to be replaced or sent out to be straightened. Meanwhile, I wait patiently for the verdict.  So, both rims on the driver's side are bent.  Enough to cause a shimmy, but not enough to cause the tires to leak so the company will not replace the wheels.  That is just as well actually because mine have a special black on the chrome which was done in Calif and not done elsewhere.  As it turns out the one I had to have replaced in Albuquerque is not blackened so I have 3 blackened and one shinny.  If they replaced these two I'd have 3 shinny and one blackened and that would not be good.
Anyway, I now have an appointment for Monday.  They apparently have someone who comes and gets the car, takes the tires apart, straightens the rims and puts it all back together.  The time I will get a loaner.
Anyway, enough of all this.
I left the dealership at noon and headed over to Anne's.  We went to an interesting restaurant nearby.  It was Indian, Indonesia, other countries and very different.  We sat outside and it was a lovely day.
Oh, did I tell you that Bella demands a special place when riding in the car? She pushes and nudges until she get where she wants to be and it doesn't matter who is sitting in the passenger seat.

From there we went over to Mount Auburn Cemetery. It is a National Historic Landmark.  It is 175 acres with more than 10 miles of roads and paths.  It is privately owned and still an active burial place.  It was founded in 1831, and designated a National Historic Landmark in 2003.  It is an Urban Wildlife refuge and Premiere birding Destination with 227 species of birds.  It is home to spotted salamander; site of amphibian reintroductions, apiary and pollinator habitats. It is also an accredited arboretum and Botanical Garden.  It contains a Nationally significant collection of woody and herbaceous  plants, including 5000 trees (640 different species and cultivars), over 6,000 shrub plantings and 4000 ground cover plantings.
There are more than 60,000 monuments, 160 tombs and mausolea, and 62 historic cast-iron fences.  There are 5 19th century buildings, including Egyptian Revival Gateway, 2 Gothic Revival Chapels, Administration Building and Washington Tower. They have a preservation staff that manage conservation, repair and resetting of more than 100 damaged or deteriorated monuments annually. There are reflection pools, woodland gardens and scenic overlooks.  It really is a beautiful place.
Anne, Bella and I parked and then started to walk around, but soon we were approached and told that dogs were not permitted to be walking.  They could be in the car while driving through.  So, we headed back to the car.  We stopped in at the Visitor Center and were really glad we did.  The man who was working in there is a MIT graduate, as is Anne, and they had a lot in common.  He gave us a lot of history of the Cemetery and other areas around.  We also talked about gardening and stuff.
Anne wants to do some gardening, but needs some help in designing it.  I made the comment that I wish some one would come out and look at the area and make a map telling me what to plant where.  I'd do all the work after that.  The nice man told us that the nursery in Belmont does just that.  So that is awesome, Anne is going to go there and check them out.
We went back to the car and then drove through the Cemetery.  It really is an amazing place.
Next we went back to Anne's so she could pick up her car and then we drove to Harvard square.  We found a frozen yogurt place and had a snack.  Then we walked around for a bit until she had to leave for an appointment.
Bella and I headed out. We stopped at Costco to pick up a few items needed for Friday's family luncheon and then headed home.
I watched some TV and went to bed.

Monday, 16 October; Bedford, MA

Boy is it ever cold today;  much colder than it has been.  I took Bella out and was surprised that there wasn't any frost because it sure felt like there should have been.
My plan for the day was to call Lexus to set up an appointment to bring my car in for service and to do laundry. While I was waiting for Lexus to open Anne texted and said she had cancelled her midday appointment and did we want to get together and go for a walk.  I said sure.  Then she said we could meet for lunch and then walk.  Awesome.
I got in touch with Lexus and set up an appointment for tomorrow morning.  Then I got a shower and set off to meet Anne in Lexington.  We had lunch in a really yummy Chinese Restaurant in central Lexington.  It was delicious.  Rob called just as we were finishing up.  He was in Portland waiting for the nice people to get on.  He was originally scheduled to go from Portland back to San Diego where he was to spend the night, but instead the company was sending him to Boston.  How cool is that!! So, he is scheduled to get in at 7:30 and is staying at the Marriott and then will leave in the morning so I get to go and meet him and spend the night.
After lunch Anne and I walked around town and out to the Minuteman statue, battleground etc.

It was nice.  Then we jumped on the bike/walking trail and headed out.  It was fairly busy for midday on a Monday.  We found an off-shoot trail that we took.  It wasn't very long and it led us back to the main trail.  We jumped back on it and headed back to our cars.  Damn!  I got a parking ticket.  I was probably only 5 minutes late.  Oh well at least it is only $10.00 and not the $210. like my speeding ticket was.
We said our good byes and headed off to our respective homes.
I got home and played on the computer for a bit.  I laid down to take a nap because I was so tired and sleepy from this cold, but my legs were restless and I couldn't sleep.  So, I changed my clothes into something I could wear the rest of this eve and tomorrow when I hang out with Anne and then at 7 pm I headed into Chelsea to meet Rob.
The sun was going down and it was a pretty sunset.

The nice people at the hotel let me check into his room before he got there.  Wow;  it was a really nice suite with a kitchen, sitting area and lovely bathroom.  I put my stuff in, texted Rob and went down stairs for a glass of wine.  I brought it back up to the room and called my Mom.  We had a nice chat while waiting for Rob.
He came in, changed clothes and then we went down stairs.  We sat in their nice bar/dining room and had a great Greek salad.  His first officer joined us and we had a nice evening before retiring to bed.  It was really nice that we were able to rendezvous that way.

Sunday, 15 October, Hanscom AFB, Mass

It's very foggy this morning, but it is actually warm.  As the fog is burning off it s still overcast, but I guess it is supposed to clear up this afternoon.
Rob is on a trip.  I talked to hime while he was in LA.  He flies from LA to Portland and then to San Diego where he will spend the night.
It is Sunday which mean NFL.  Anne and I are going to meet at a Sports bar and watch the Raiders.  Hopefully they can pull off a win.  They are playing the SanDiego/LA Chargers.  They are supposed to play in Oakland at the Raider's stadium, but due to the smoke from all the fires they may move it to LA.  They are monitoring the air quality.
Meanwhile I am trying to get caught up out the Blog and caring for my cold.
They were playing movies based on Mary Higgins Clark books on TV, so that certainly helped me stay entertained while I was working on the blog.  The other good thing is that this time, for once I had all the pictures from the various days.  I posted all the pictures and then was able to remember the day based on them.
At 2:30 I finally got all caught up.  Now for a shower and then to go and meet Anne.
I went to Anne's.  Dan was outside pruning.  We chatted for a bit and the Anne came out so we left.  First she directed me to a closed gas station (not good since I was running on fumes) and then to one that I was able to get gas at.  Phew!! Then we went to Conneleys Sports Bar.  It was a very busy place as expected on NFL Sundays.  Ass the TVs seemed to be showing the New Orleans Saints' game.  I asked if the Raider's were on anywhere and the nice man said he'd find it for us.  We got to go into a room practically all to ourselves and he did put the Raider game on for us.  We had a fun time watching the game and chatting.  Anne is learning about football and watching the NFL with all their colored lines and drawings makes it much easier to explain.
We got lost in our conversation for a bit and when we got back to the game the Chargers were catching up with only a few minutes left in the game.  The Chargers kept taking a knee on their downs and I was thinking what are they doing?! That's what you do when you are winning and you are running down the clock, but they were behind.  Then it dawned on me.  They were in field goal range and the three points would win the game for them and sure enough,...the bastards did it.  They made the field goal just as the clock wound down and beat the Raiders by one point.  Heart breaking.
We went back to Anne & Dans and I helped finish preparing dinner then we all, Anne, Dan, Grace & Lauren sat down to eat.  It was yummy.  Just as we were finishing up Grace's boyfriend, Caleb, came in and joined us.  He is very handsome.  He didn't say much though.  Soon dinner was over and we cleaned up.  The kids went off to do homework and  the three of us sat for a bit longer and visited and then Bella and I went home.  It was just about 10 pm when we got home so we just went to bed.

Saturday, 14 October; Boston

Up at 6 am (actually I slept in 'till 6:30) then on the road at 7am.  We drove to Boston Airport to drop Rob off.  He has a trip starting tomorrow so gets to spend the day flying to LA.  It is a direct flight, but 6 hours worth.
After dropping him off I came back to the rig and then found a place to get my hair cut. My appointment was at 9:15.
I contacted Anne to see if she was up and home.  She was teaching but said she'd be home later in the morning.  I was only about 10 minutes away from their house.
So, I went to the grocery store and then to Costco and then headed over to their house.  No one was there yet so Boo and I sat on the porch and waited.
Dan arrived on his bike and then Lauren arrived.  They had both been rowing on the river.  They have a big race next weekend and today they had a trial run on the river.  It is twisty turney with bridges they have to maneuver under.  Dan rows alone and he is backward using a mirror to see where he is going.  Lauren is part of an 8 member team and also row backward, but they have a coxswain who can see where they are going and they call out.
We had a nice visit for a couple hours.  Anne got caught up in errands and then had a massage appointment so I missed her. I was starting to feel like crap.  So rather than go to a movie with her later I elected to stay home and get through the cold.
When I got home is was nice out and unfortunately I had left the fireplace on so it was really hot inside.  I knew Bella was going to want to stay outside and she would be very good out there on her own unless......she saw a squirrel or chipmunk, then she'd be gone.  I decided to put the fence up just enough that she could sit on the steps without me having to worry about her.
Boy I just kept feeling worse and worse.  Headache, and of course a horrible caught that gets more out of control as the evening wears on.
I finally went to bed proper up on pillows.

Friday 13 October; Bedford and Belmont, MA

I actually woke up feeling pretty good this morning. I didn't cough all night like I was afraid I would
It is not especially cold out.  Bella and I went out for our little walk.
We decided we would go and play 9 holes of golf today.  There are a couple things I would like to do as well
We went out to the golf course but they were in the middle of a tournament and so they gave us a Tee time of 2:30.
So, errands while we wait.
We made a couple phone calls to see if I could get an eye exam anywhere.  I really wanted to get it done today so they would have more time to get my glasses once ordered.  But, couldn't find anywhere to get the exam.  So we went to base to see if they could fix my glasses.  I have been wearing non-current glasses because my current ones kept falling apart again while we were visiting Laurie and Chuck in Minnesota.
They were able to fix my glasses and there was no charge which is so nice. I hope they last this time.
After that we found a place to get Bella's nails clipped.  They were really long.  I had wanted to go to a vet so we could also get her caught up on some of those extra vaccines like Lime and Lepto....sp?, and possible rattlesnake.  But, he sweetly found a groomer so we went there and they did a nice job.
I don't think I will repeat her rattlesnake.  She won't need it right now and she reacted last year to her follow-up so maybe we will wait until we are home and need it again.
We got a bite to eat and then went back to the golf course.  The tournament was still going on.  Apparently they started an hour late and then got backed up.  The guy in the pro shop wouldn't let anyone fill in the gaps, he wanted everyone to wait until the tournament was over. That was going to be closer to 3:30.  We finally decided to bail.
We went home and chilled for a little bit and then got ready to go to the girls' High School football game.  It is their last home game and it is "Honor the Seniors" night.
Grace is in the marching band.  She was all dressed in and looked very cute in her band uniform.  We saw her right away and she saw us.  Then came over and gave us a hug.
We were not sure when Dan was supposed to get there and Anne had a class and would not get there until after half time.   The band was going to play at half time so we were definitely there to see that.  Also, Grace's boyfriend is one of the football players.

The band in the stands playing little snippets throughout the game
The gal in the center, behind the shoulder of the gal standing, is Grace
Since it is Senior night, the senior band members were to march out on the field first, accompanied by there parents and be recognized.  Grace asked us if we would walk out with her because her parents weren't there.  Of course, we were honored.
Dan arrived just as we were lining up to go out on the field, so the three of us accompanied Grace out.  It was funny because they announced her as being "accompanied by her parents, Anne and Dan Curtis"
She is such a sweetie.
We didn't get to meet her boyfriend.
Anne and Dan were going to get together with Grace's boyfriend's parents for dinner after the game.  They had not met yet.  Grace had plans so Rob and I went on home.  Besides that, while we were out and about today somebody put a notice on our porch telling us that we were not allowed to have a dog fence.  That meant that we had to lock Bella in for the evening while we were gone.  I can tell you that I do not like that at all.
We watched a movie that we had picked up and then went to bed.

Thursday, 12 October; Maine to Mass

Today we are moving on.  I'm kind of excited about that.  It is real pretty here and we have had a good time, but I'm getting antsy.
We have about a 4 plus hour drive so we got into it right away and packed things up.  Rob wanted to be on the road by 9 or 9:30 and we were.  We hit the road just after 9:00.  Bella is getting much better about the whole thing.
It used to be that as soon as I started tucking things away she would start trembling.  If I pulled in a slide, she was out of here and often used up in the car until it was time to go.  Now, she sits in her bed until  it's time to pull in that last slide.
Anyway, the drive was ok.  I was supposed to go on ahead of him and check us into the base Fam camp.  We didn't have reservations and we were not even sure if there was space.  However, I ended up stopping a couple times and ended up getting there only just ahead of him.
I'm coming down with a cold.  I can feel the pressure building up in my face.  I can also feel it in my chest so I know it's going to be a bronchial thing.  I hate that.  I was really starting to get sleepy.

I got to the campsite just ahead of Rob.  There were plenty of open spaces.  It is a good thing that I didn't get there to soon ahead of him because I couldn't get a space without giving them a copy of all of our registrations and a copy of Bella's shot records.  He arrived and we check out the available spots.  We got settled in.  Rob took Bella for a walk and then he left and went to Anne's for dinner.  I was starting to feel horrible and sleepy so I stayed back.  I took a nap and then watched some TV.

It got pretty as the sun was going down, but it was hard to take a picture of it.  There are lights throughout this park which get in the way of pictures.

wednesday; 11 October, Maine

So today we went to the Botanical Garden that we were going to go to on Monday. It is a lovely day, not raining, and so this is a better day.
It is a "People's Garden" and is celebrating 10 years. It is set on nearly 300 acres and began as an idea bon from a small group of visionaries in 1991 and welcomed its first visitors in 2007.

Now it has become the largest botanical garden in New England

This wall is made up of wire boxes that are filled with planting soil and then planted and wired together into these frames.
This is one of the wire boxes.  They sold them in the gift shop here for $45.
Since it is fall they had all kinds of decorations set up.
  There were ponds

There were kids areas with fun things
Bella especially liked this bunny.
Walking labyrinths are always fun as well
This is part of the senses garden.  You put your head in there and listen to the awesome echoes when you talk or hum or whatever.

They have aVayo Meditation garden with wonderful stone seats, statuary, and a meditation pond.

The inside edges of this stone s all shinny and then the water is in it.

Bella had a really tough time with all the chipmunks that tormented her along the trails, especially since we would not allow her to chase them.  They were not afraid of her at all.

This is a "pinecone" sculpture. It marks the intersection of several trails and is especially important because if you don't want to hike out you can catch a shuttle back to the visitor center.

They had bear caves and Fairy houses

The trails also ran along the shoreline.

I liked this "Cat" fence around the Children's garden

Rob liked the rope bridge in the kid's garden

A Fairy house in the Kid's Garden
Rob totally remembers this book from his childhood.  They had a copy of it in the  kid's garden
This is the statue that goes with "Blueberries for Sal".  The little bear and the pail of blueberries.

There were still beautiful flowers this time of year, both in the water and on land.

After the garden we wandered around the cute town of BoothBay
Again, it is the end of the season and many of the places were not open, or this was the last week for them to be open, or they were only open for dinner.  This was one that said they were open for lunch, but as it turned out, they were not open this day.  We did finally find a place and had a nice late lunch.
From there we went back home.
Rob went off to the gym and I started putting stuff away and getting things ready to move tomorrow.
