Thursday 5 October; Great Pond, Maine

Boy, somebody sure trashes our bed in the middle of the night, The top sheet was untucked, and the bottom sheet always manages to pop.  Since I had to remake it anyway I figured it would be a good time to change the sheets.  So I did!  Good time of year for Flannel.  Changing the sheets prompted gathering and sorting the laundry.  Since it is gathered and sorted we might as well wash it.

The laundry room is a bit of a hike so we loaded it in the car and drove over.  As it turned out there is only one washing machine and one dryer.  The washer was already in use.  this is not going to work.  We drove back and then went for a nice walk.  We are in RV spot # 18 it seems to be the last one, but as we walked up the dirt road we encountered 12 cabins.  They are really nice to.  We hit the end of the road and turned around and walked back.  There is also a tent platform so we checked it out.  It is pretty cool.  It is an elevated wooden platform with steps leading up to it. There is a picnic table and fire ring and a trail down to the lake.  I thought man, there is no bathroom around here.  What are they supposed to do.  We looked around and discovered an out house.  Very cool.

We think that the leaves have changed more since we have been here.  They seem to be more vivid today.

After getting back to the rig we decided to walk over to the lodge.  We had wanted to rent a patio boat today and go out on the lake.  When we got there we discovered we could rent kayaks or small power fishing boats, but not the patio boats.  They are privately owned.  That's to bad.  It is to windy today to go out on a small power boat.  

We found out we can do laundry there.  They have a big washer and drying and you can do a double load all the way through both wash and dry for $5.00.  So we spent the next couple hours at the lodge playing on the computer, played a game of pool and then folded our laundry.  

We checked out a couple movies while we were there.  

We went back home and Rob was smart enough to start a crockpot of some of the pre-made and frozen meals I had made a couple weeks ago.  It was Beef stroganoff. 

I spent the rest of the afternoon going through all my yarn.  I rolled balls the sized that would fit in some plastic containers I had purchased.  Each container holds 16 balls.  It takes up less room than all the skeins that I had plus, it is much easier to see what I have and pick out what I need now.  I donated the rest of the leftover yarn to the lodge.

We had dinner, watched a coupe movies and went to bed.
