Friday, 24 February; San Quitin to Guadalupe Valley-Wine country!

So, we are back on California Time.  When we crossed the border into Baja North we changed time zones.  That meant that our normal wake-up time is actually an hour earlier.

We have a bout a 4 hour drive today, which usually means about 6.  Also, there were about 6 RVs that were getting ready to move out and we didn't want to be behind them.  We are going to a place in Guadalupe Valley to go wine tasting.  There is only one RV park and they do not take reservations, so we don't want to get there behind a caravan.
So, we packed up and left.
The drive was really pretty.  As on the way to here; they have had a lot of rain and there were fields of wild flowers.  It was amazing.
Lot's of agriculture and Green houses.

Fields and fields of wild flowers.
Some yellow, but some pink

 Getting into grape areas

 Also becoming more populated

Some pretty towns to.

And finally, into the wineries!
And, only 90 Kilometers from the US.
We finally found our camping  ground.  It is across the street from a deaf school.  It has water and electricity, but no sewer.  There is a dump, but it seems difficult to get into and we will only be here for two nights and then will be with full hookups.
We got everything all set up, took all the dogs for a walk and then headed out to a winery to taste and get a bite to eat.
We first stopped in at the wine Museum to get some idea of what is where and where we should go.
As it turned out, the museum was getting ready to close, the tastings quit at 5:00 and the couple of restaurants would be closing at 7:00.
The museum was interesting, telling about the industry in Mexico.
We drove around for awhile trying to find a particular winery that was supposed to have interesting architecture and good food.  The ceilings are actually overturned boats. It was interesting.
The restaurant was the building in the back right. Unfortunately, it was a six course style starting at 6 pm (it was about 10 'til) but it was filled up tonight.
Outside, the have a food truck and sitting area, but it was not open either.
So, we went on.  We finally found a winery called El Cielo.  Their restaurant is called Latitude 32.  It was amazing.  Fancier that what we originally wanted, but super yummy with amazing service. And, good wine.
Even Chuck's hamburger was served in a most elegant manner.
Rob had an octopus dish. Which he found to be delicious
I had a seafood pasta.  Super Yummy.
It had been a long day and we were full of delicious food and had just enough of good wine.  So, nothing left to do but go to bed.  Tomorrow we are going on a wine-tasting tour.
