Saturday, 25 February; Wine Tasting in Guadalupe Valley.

We are still waking up a little bit early since we are on a different time zone.  But, that makes it good.  We all get up about the same time, because we are out with the dogs at the same time.  They are so cute.  They are all so happy to see each other.  Except that Bella doesn't like Annie.  The very first day, way back in Potrero, before we left for Mexico, Annie ran into our rig and stole one of Bella's toys.  Bella seems to have remembered that all this time and has not forgiven Annie.  She growls every time Annie gets near her.
Silly.
We are going to go wine tasting this morning.  A man is (Daniel) is going to come pick us up at 10:30 and take us to as many wineries as we want.  Three of them are included in the cost of the tour.
Across the street is an interesting restaurant, winery and hotel.  The room are up on the hillside.  On the other side of the hill are more of the interesting room and back there is another restaurant (private only for them) a pool and hot tub.
we walked over to check it out in the morning before our tour
We walked through the vineyards to get there
The wine tasting room/gift store isn't open yet today.  Rob peeked through the slats in the door.  It is built around some big boulders.
Both the picture above and below are looking out over the vineyard from the wine tasting area.
The picture below is looking out from the restaurant
As we were walking back to the rigs we noticed a helicopter at the Blind School.  Naturally we had to go and check it out.
Daniel arrived with the van and picked us up to take us tasting.

This winery was really cute, with a really nice gift shop, but the wine was horrible.  It was really cloudy and all 5 were pretty bad.  There were a couple of items (not wine) that I wanted to get, but I figured they would also be at the others, so why buy everything at the first place.
The next place was actually where we were supposed to go first, but there were a couple buses parked out front so we decided to wait.  It was an interesting place because it was located in a Mercado with a bunch of other gift shops and stuff.
When we walked in they handed us a tray with about 8 different kids of bite-size cheese and a little plastic cup of a white wine.
We went to a counter where we were also given some bread and they had several sauces and jams to taste along with the wine.
We liked a couple of these wines, but not the place so much.  We ended up buying a couple bottles of wine here.

The next place was interesting.  It was all outdoors.  They had different areas depending on whether you were doing their regular tasting or Reserve tasting.  They had some good wines as well and we bought a couple bottles here as well.
It was fun:  L to R:  Lori, John, Rob, Cat & Laurie.
We were getting hungry so we went to a place for some food and a nice view.
Pretty place
 With a nice view
 And a nice patio

From this one we went on back to our rigs.
