Saturday, 18 feb Santispac Beach

It is lovely and calm this morning, but the rain is supposed to be moving in today.
Since the water was so calm we decided to go out for a paddle.
We paddled along the beach to the left and went over by Rick's compound.  We wanted to check it out from the water.
 So, we paddled along
As you can see, it is pretty.  They also have a coral and a horse.

Then, we paddled out to and around the island that is above Lori's head in this picture.  It was really cool.  The water was so calm and clear.  We could see skates (like sting rays), fish, star fish, and we think we saw a Durango. You can't see it in this picture, but there is a nice beach on this island and we pulled up there.  We let Bella off to go play and Lori and I checked out all the pretty clam shells.  Interesting thing tho is that they were all open and empty.  No whole live clams.  I think they may live in/under the sand and you have to dig for them.
From there we went out to the rocks that you can see center left in this picture.  It was shallow around them and there were probably 20 pelicans and loons sitting on them.  When we got to the back side it was a bit smelly from the birds.  It was really cool paddling around them.  From there we went back to shore.  It was the greatest paddling we have done so far.  The water was calm, the air was calm and it was easy paddling.
That didn't last long though, as a storm moved in.  We knew it was coming, but it wasn't supposed to be bad.
Lori and John gathered up all their laundry and headed into Muleje.
We gathered up computers and stuff and decided to go in as well.  When Rob and I got on the road it was pouring.
We looked for this restaurant that we had gone to before, but it was closed for the weekend.  We saw John and Lori and told them we were going to go up to a restaurant about a block away from where we were doing laundry and get something to eat and play with the computers.
It was a really cute place.
And they came and joined us
The connection wasn't all that great and I couldn't get my pictures to transfer so we left soon after eating.
From there it stopped raining so much and Rob and I decided to go check out a beach further south of where we are staying.  It is called Cottage Cheese Beach.  Not sure why!  But we had been told about it and saw it on our way to Santispac.
They told us that when the tide is out you can walk across the sand bar to the island. It wasn't completely out so we had to wade some.  Going it was just up to the bottom of the calves.
It was pretty cool out there.  There were trails that led to little beaches.  Unfortunately all the trails were covered with broken clam shells and in some cases you had to climb over lava type rocks. We should have carried our shoes so we could have them when we got to the island, but we didn't, so our explorations were limited.
You can see the sandbar leading back to the beach and the RVs parked on it.
It was pretty cool.

We headed back and it was a little shallower.
We went back to our own beach.
Lori and John were putting their stuff away or something inside their rig and I was outside.  I looked up and saw a Scamp.  I thought oh cool, there's a little scamp like Chuck and Laurie's and it came over and parked right by us and it was Chuck and Laurie with Annie and Rosie! Yippee!
What a fun reunion!
Laurie with Molly, Bella, Rosie, and Tucker!  She must have had treats!
The wind picked up and it started to get a bit stormy again.  We decided to go over to the Restaurant, Anna's, for dinner. But, NO Margaritas.  This is where we all got sick the last night before we left before.  No repeat thank you very much.
The storm really came up, especially the winds.  They were horrendous.  We were forced into our respective rigs.  I felt really sorry for Chuck and Laurie in their little e.g..
