Up at 4:30 am makes for crazy business.
We drove to the Airport here in Tucson, got our security documents and each went to security. Rob met me on the other side and asked me if I had my passport. I told him no, because I was going to change purses and it is in the other purse. He handed me my passport. We confused them at the US border and when they gave the two of them back to Rob he accidentally handed me his and kept mine. He has to have his passport for his upcoming trip.
So, he had to go back to our RV to get his. It is 5:15, our flight is at 6:30. He doesn't think he will make it back in time to catch our flight, but will take the next one.
I went to the gate and boarded the plane. We waited for a little while and finally two young guys got on and we closed the doors.
In the mean time, Rob went back to the rig, found his passport in my purse, and rather than head back, decided to make himself an instant cup of coffee. He put a cup of water in the microwave for three minutes poured in his coffee and cream and then left.
As he got was going to the gates he heard them call last call for our flight, but by the time he got to the gate, they had closed the door. So he missed the flight for his coffee!!!
No worries, he took the next one.
My flight was fine. I got off the plane, headed down to baggage to the street level doors and went out. I found the spot to catch the "Green Line" bus waited about a minute and it came. It picked me up at the first terminal and then it stops at the remaining 7 before heading out away from the airport over to the the light rail. The whole bus ride is about 15 - 20 min. As it turned onto Aviation Blvd., three blocks from light rail, I realized that I had checked my bag and did not get it from baggage claim. Soooooooo Dummy;, Bella and I got off that bus and back on one heading back to the airport.
Again, we were the first terminal so I went in, got my bag, used the restroom and went back out and got on the bus again. Nice waste of an hour.
When we got to light rail this time Bella and I decided we needed to walk, so we just walked the two long blocks from there to the Teton. It took me awhile to get the door unlocked. I don't know why I always have so much trouble with it. I finally got in and brought my stuff in when Rob called. He was at the airport and would be at the Teton in about 20 min. Awesome. So, I took Bella out for a walk so she could do her business.
He arrived just as we got back. He is having trouble with his scooter battery and needed to replace it. So he took the time to take the scooter apart to get the battery.
From there we went to the dentist. They took Rob in first as he only needed to pick up his retainer and have a small hole in his implant filled. They took me in while he was still there.
They x-rayed my tooth, then the female Dr (first time I had met her and she is really nice) checked it and said yes, it is definitely loose. Then Dr. Mehta came in and said yes it is loose, but not too bad, but since it is giving you so much trouble we will take it out. He said he could take it all the way out, even out of the bone, so great, let's do it.
Oh My God I hate doing dental stuff. He couldn't get the tooth off the implant so that he could unscrew it. So, instead, he drilled away part of the tooth so he could get a good grip on it and using forceps and sheer strength, not to mention wiggling back and forth he pulled it out of the bone, screw and all.
I hate going to the dentist.
I walked out and into Rob's arms and said, I want to go home and go to bed. He said Oh, you look like a chipmunk!
I did sleep for most of the rest of the day either in the car or once we got home in bed.
I slept until about 5:00. all the numbness was gone and I had awakened at one point with it throbbing but took a aspirin with codeine and went back to sleep.
Anyway, we went out to dinner to a nice Italian restaurant in El Segundo. It was really good and soft. I hadn't eaten all day so I was really hungry.
After dinner we came back to the Teton and went back to bed.
