THURSDAY, 23 JULY 2020; COEUR d’ ALENE, IDAHO

Thursday, 23 July

Today is Golf.  It would be especially lovely if we could to at golf at the Coeur d’ Alene Golf Resort and Spa, and play that awesome 17th green, but at $250 per person, we decided to pass.
Instead, Craig Rob and I played at The Highlands Golf Course.  It was much cheaper, and not as nice, but it was fun.  Apparently it was no where near as difficult as the course that Rob and Craig played in Sandpoint.
There were some pretty homes on it.  Some were modest and lovely and then we got to a section where they were obviously quite expensive.
Unfortunately, like the homes, the greens were very inconsistent. Some were really fast, some were very bumpy, and some were slow.  None of us could write home about our putting.
After golf we zoomed back to the RV park, and it’s a good thing we did.  We had scheduled to have our RV washed and when we got back they were there.  They were actually a bit early and it was a good thing that Pam was there enjoying the shade, because they wanted to leave and go do someone else.  She convinced them that we would be there and not to leave and we pulled up right then.  We had to mover all the fencing and chairs and everything for them.
Bella and I went over and hung out with Pam and Craig while they were washing.  She doesn’t know her phone real well.  She has a Kindle and so I was trying to get her phone to tether with the Kindle via her hotspot.  First I had to find her hot spot, get it turned on and then get the Kindle to recognize and connect to it.  After about 30 minutes I finally met with success.  The issue was, she was almost finished with her book and needed to download more onto her Kindle but she was to far from the WiFi.  She did have a really strong signal on her cell phone tho.  Anyway, we were successful and she was able to bring up a couple more books.
Rob in the meantime went for a run.  He got back just as the guys were finishing the RV.  They did a really nice job, and quick, and cheap.  It looks great.
Rob showered and Pam fed her dogs (our Bella is a brat and wont eat).  We all jumped in the truck and went over to Coeur d’
Alene Golf Resort and Spa for a cocktail and appetizer.  The golf course is absolutely beautiful.  It is in immaculate condition and super green as far as the eye can see.  Amazing!
We were able to get right in at the restaurant and had a nice spot on their patio.  We were not only able to get a great view of the floating green,
But also got to watch several people tee off to hit it.  There were several splashes, but most of them (men and ladies) hit it.

It was a lot of fun watching.  We had a really nice waiter, but the service was not great.  We each ordered a drink and an appetizer.  Pam’s (and only Pam’s) arrived first, before our drinks.  Ok, I ordered a Bloody Mary that had to be made, but Pam had a sprite and the guys both had beers on tap.  How hard is that.  She was half way through her appetizer before our drinks finally came.  Rob ordered these god awful fries with “shredded beef” (if you looked under a magnifying glass), cheese curds, and gravy.  It was tasty for the first couple bites.  Craig and I each had nachos, mine chicken and his beef.  He asked for the sour cream and guac on the side, because he doesn’t like either.  They only put the guacamole on The side.  The sour cream was plopped right on top.
The nachos were like the kind you might get at the theater.  Chips thrown on a plate then nasty runny cheese poured over, throw on some jalapeños, and in this case globs of tomato paste and then a half a handful of either diced beef or chicken.  It was horrible.  Very, very disappointing for as ritzy as the place was. Oh well.  It was still fun watching the golfers on the island.

It was 8:00 by the time we got back so we just chilled and read before going to bed.  It was a fun day.
