Saturday, 31 December 2016. RCRVR - San Diego

HAPPY 20TH ANNIVERSARY ROB.  WHAT A GREAT ADVENTURE AND LIFE WE HAVE BEEN HAVING.  THANK YOU!!!!
We drank our coffee inside because it is still raining out.

Rob went off for a run and I got busy sewing up the cushion covers for the patio footstools.  They turned out a tad big, but perhaps that will make them last a little longer.  Who knows. Rob got back in time to help me stuff the second one.  Now I just have to do the had sewing to close them up.  I will finish them up when we get back.
We grabbed our party clothes, food for the Boo and her bed and the Champagne loaded up the car and headed to the beautiful Westgate Hotel in downtown San Diego.  The wonderful thing about our anniversary being New Year's Eve is that everything is still all beautifully decorated for Christmas.  Such was the case in this hotel.

Our room was really nice as well.  Very elegant and had a couple of cozy chairs with ottoman along with a very pretty desk and chair.  Nice big bathroom with a vanity.  Nice.
We took Bella out for a walk and walked over to the mall to a grocery store where we bought some goodies for appetizers.
We headed back to the room.  Rob took a nap while I showered and got ready for the evening festivities.  Speaking of festivities, the hotel is having a Mascaraed Ball. We walked through the ballroom lobby where they were setting up.  It was fun to see some of the guests.
Jack & Colleen came by at about 6 pm.  Originally we were all supposed to do this evening (dinner/dance cruise and hotel for New Year's Eve) together, but there was a bit of a miscommunication about reservations.  So, by the time they called about the cruise it was sold out.
Anyway, they came to our room to share Champagne and appetizers with us and to help us celebrate our Anniversary.  #20 for us.  Wow! We took some fun pictures of all of us in our elegant room.

Soon it was time for Rob and I to head down to the dock. So, we all walked down to the lobby.  There we took a couple more pictures.

oops, I only seem to have one of them.
After that, we walked down to the harbor and boarded the Spirit of San Diego.  It was decorated nicely.  They had dining tables set up upstairs and down stairs.  Luckily we were upstairs.  The band was down stairs.
We found our table and sat with another couple.  Her name was Katarina and she is from Romania.  His name was Chris. He is from South Dakota but travels all around the world with his work.  They were really nice and we enjoyed the evening with them.
This is a very blurred picture of Chris, but you can see all the guests. We were not jam packed, but there were quite a few guests on board.
We headed out into the Harbor and cruised around San Diego in the rain.  It made taking pictures of the beautiful city and Coronado Island a bit difficult, but it was really pretty.

They took this very nice picture of us.

I took some nice one's of them as well, but it was with their camera so I don't have the pics.
We had a nice dinner and dessert and then headed down stairs for some dancing.  The band was really good and fun and the dance floor was not horribly packed.  We danced in the New Year and had a great time.
We pulled back into the dock and walked back to our Hotel. It was a wonderful Anniversary and New Year's Eve celebration.  I wonder where we will be next year??!!
I hope you all had a nice New Year's Eve celebration.
