It was very chilly and grey all day today. Normally this time at year is sunny and warm. That is why all the snowbirds from Canada come here and all the full-timers return from wherever they go to escape the heat of July, Aug and Sept.
We were feeling pretty lazy, so I decided to work on the blog and get it all caught up. I want to get this year printed out into hardback like I did for our trip in 2009. In order to do that, of course, I need to get it brought up to date.
Another reason I want to get back on the road is because I take a lot more pictures. Being here in Aguanga at the Ranch since 2010 makes the desire to take pictures minimal.
I feel bad that I didn't take more pictures of my family over the holidays. Not only do pictures make the blog more interesting, but I feel like I missed out on opportunities to preserve memories of my Nephews, my Brother, my Mom, my Stepmother. I need to be better about taking pictures of people I am with, especially friends and family.
Around noon time Rob started making whining, restless, inactivity noises. He really wanted to work out, but, he didn't feel like doing any weight workout and he didn't really want to go run, but he really, really didn't want to sit out and do absolutely nothing. There was no question as to what I was going to do. Being 15 days behind on the blog, I was going to be glued to the computer. He finally put on his running clothes (I might add that he continued to whimper the whole time he was dressing) and headed out. We are on lot 131 and it is located on the 13th Tee box. The walking/running/golf cart trail is just across the fairway. As he was headed out he didn't start running right away, as usual, but walked (somewhat slowly I might add) across the fairway. Where I was sitting I could see him out the window. I finally had to text him and state that "your aren't running very fast!" then I felt bad because I saw him stop and have to take his phone out of the holder on his arm so he could see who texted him. I texted.."oops, sorry to force you to undress" He texted a funny face sticking its tongue out at me.I told him I was sorry and he responded with "Stop texting me, so I can run"! He's a funny boy.
He finally got back. He's usually gone about an hour. It seemed longer, but I failed to look at the clock when he left and it seemed like a long time.
I had caught the blog up to the 27th and really needed a break. So, we went for a walk. Bella certainly needed to get out. we walked back over to our own lot.
Niki and Jerry who live catty-corner to the left of our lot were working on their lot, setting up their 3rd awning. They are the sweetest people. They used to rent the lot on the left of Jack and Colleen, then they purchased the lot on the right side of Jack and Colleen and started a build futon it. They did all the work themselves. Anyway, we stopped in and chatted with them for a bit. We walked by Kim and Phil's, but they were not out. We went to our lot and I found my grocery bag that had fallen out of our golf cart last night.
We decided to walk by the lot that Barry and Dalla are renting but they weren't there.
So, we returned to our lot. We picked up our golf cart and went to the office to see if they were open so we could pay for our propane tanks that we had filled. I went to our gym to see if I had any of my equipment still in there (I didn't), the office was closed so we had to pay for our tank through Security. Anyway, we picked up the tanks and came back to our rig. One of the tanks belong to the rig, and the other belongs to our lot.
I came inside to continue working on the blog. Rob took the cart and first dropped off the P tank to our lot and then went out on the course to play some golf. One of the fun things about being on this lot is that I can see everyone who is golfing o hole 13 from any of the windows. I can't see that from the rig on our lot, only if I am sitting out on our patio.
Blah, Blah, Blah.
Now that I am caught up with today I seem to just be rambling on about everything and nothing.
Ok. So, we Bar-B-Q'd some chicken, and asparagus, and cooked some squash. Had a nice dinner, watched the news and then a movie and then went to bed.
Oh, most important! I talked to (actually texted back and forth) with Judy about Dave & Donna Smeed and Judy's husband Rob. Donna is being released from the hospital today. they are staying in Bakersfield for another day or two just to make sure Donna doesn't develop any complications. Rob was not involved in the pile-up. He was ahead of them all on the freeway driving the Smeed's car. The Smeed's dog Bandit was not injured, spent the night with an Emergency Responder and has be reunited with Dave. Donna's sister and Brother-in-law are up in Bakersfield with them. They will be coming down to this area in the next day or two to spend some time with the Sister while healing physically and emotionally.
I am very happy to hear they are OK. What a horrible ordeal!
