Sunday, 8 Jan 2016, Potrero, CA & Tecate, MX

We went to bed early last night and so I woke up fairly early.  My back and hips start to really bother me when I stay in bed to long.  So, 6:30 I was up.  it was still dark out.  Bella and I went out and wandered around and went potty. We took some pictures of the campsite and the surrounding area.

Lots of open spaces for the dogs to chase balls, frisbees, and each other.
Our rig and that of our Wagon Master
The more of the rigs in our group
The plan was to meet about 9 -9:30 to car pool into Tacate to get our visitor passes. But we started meeting in small groups prior to that.
Rob went out for a run and Bella and I went out to play with some of the other dogs.
There are 8 couples and I think six of us have dogs and several have 2 dogs.
Rob finally got back, showered and we all met to carpool down to Tacate.  Rob and I rode with Denise and Steve.  They are from Minnesota.  Very nice couple.  We all went to Tecate and went to the Immigration office.  There we all filled out forms to enter Mexico. we were supposed to go here, fill out the forms, go to the bank and pay the fee and then return to the office to turn in the receipts.  As it turned out the computers were down in the bank.  Sooooooo, as a group we all filled out the forms, then went into the office and he reviewed our forms, collected our forms (sold us salsa for $2.00 American) and then gave us our receipts.
From there we crossed into Mexico and wandered down the street to the bank.

We all tried to use our ATM cards to withdraw money from our accounts and get pesos.  I had no problem and neither did anyone else, but Rob's card was declined.  OMG, that was not a good thing.  He spent the next two hours on and off the phone with the bank trying to get it cleared up.
We all went to a little outdoor cafe and had wonderful "street tacos." they were so good.  Then we all crossed back into the US and drove back to the RV park.
We are still up in the air as to what we are going to do and when we are going to be able to do it.
When we got back we sort of went off in different directions for a little bit.
We took Bella out for a walk and hit the nature trail.  It is pretty out here in the deserty, rocky area.

We tried to mix a little exercise into it as well.

We got back and there were little groups forming so we joined in.  At one point we all thought we were all going to have to move somewhere as the park was going to fill up and we all only have reservations through tomorrow night.  We all decided we would rather wait in San Quitin, Mexico (which is to be our first overnight stop in Mexico) than here if we are going to be delayed.  Our wagon master, Todd, went to check and "no, were were not going to be kicked out of this park", but we still would rather move on if possible.  He called back to head quarters, and we still don't have permission to leave yet.  We may get to leave tomorrow around 10 am and go down top San Quitin and then wait there a couple days. It is on the coast and we would all rather stay there a couple days then wait here.
We pulled out our chairs and eventually our propane fire pit and some people gathered around.
I shared our printed book of our blog from 2009 and one of the gals wanted me to help her start a blog, so I did.
We all decided we needed to eat, so we went back to our abodes to fix ourselves dinner.  Then several of us met at Denise and Steve's and gathered around the fire for a little while.
Finally we decided it was time to go back to or individual homes.
Rob worked on his Spanish lessons, I worked on the Blog, Bella curled up in her bed and we finally all went to bed.
