Chuck fixed bacon and eggs and toast. It was super yummy. Rob, Bella, and I, in a side-by-side ATV followed Chuck who was in Quad, through the woods to check on some pipes he had put in the water near a beaver dam to help the water flow out of the lake.
The beavers have built a hut, but then they keep damming up the place as well. We went out with long pants and water boots into the woods. We doused ourselves with bug spray to ensure we wouldn't be attacked by mosquitoes or horse flies. Luckily it all worked. We pulled some debris away to let the water flow and the pipes were ok.
| Beavers really do chew down trees. |
After we opened up a couple areas to let the water flow we went back to pick up Laurie. Then we went riding through the woods some more.
It was a blast. We rode into the town of Reimer and got some fuel. Then we went into the Big Foot store and checked out their artifacts/proof of the existence of Big Foot.
Next we went across the street for some ice cream...yum
From there we rode back to the Cabin and rinsed off the ATVs. They were super muddy.
After that we went for a ride around the lake in the pontoon boat. We saw a loon sitting on her nest and a muskrat swimming in the water. I have never seen a muskrat before and had no idea what they looked like. It is a really pretty lake.
Apparently the water was quite cold so I elected not to go in.
We continued around the lake and then went back in.
We Bar-B-Qued London-broil skirt steaks with bacon wrapped inside them, asparagus and then had baked potatoes and salad. It was delicious!
We sat out until it started to get chilly and were getting bit by bugs. We went inside and watched TV for a little while and then went to bed
