Friday, 9 June, Sioux Falls

When we arrived at the camp grounds yesterday and checked in the nice lady gave me a booklet about things to do in Sioux Falls and there was a brochure showing the falls.  Wow, they are huge and lots of them.
One of the things in the brochure is a bike trail that goes 19 miles around the city with 10 miles worth of off shoots.  So, that is the plan for today.
But first, we took advantage of our ability to sit outside and enjoyed our coffee.
The truck is having problems............with the air-conditioning.  It apparently needs to be recharged.  Rob called and made an appointment with a place to have the AC serviced and have them rotate the tires.  The plan is to load up the bikes in the truck, drive to the service place, drop the truck and ride from there.  Oops, snag to the plan.  We forgot to charge the battery on my bike the last time we rode.  So, we plugged it in a waited a bit.
Finally we decided I better follow him in to drop off the truck and we will just have to ride from here.
That's what we did.
Once the bike was charged we put Bella's basket on, loaded her up and set off.  We had about a 3 mile ride to the trail.  most of it was OK, but there was one part that was along a busy road with some very noisy vehicles.  Bella didn't especially like that.
Once on the trail tho it was really nice.
We followed the river for a good part of the ride and approached the falls from down river.  There are really interesting quartz rock formations.

Some are in the water, some are in the ground with grass all around

and of course the falls are basically made up of it.

We continued on the trail into the down town area, still following the river.

Eventually we stopped into a restaurant and had a late lunch.
We continued on the trail to where we started and then rode back to the RV Park.  It was a fun ride.
The truck was ready so we went and picked it up.  From there, Rob went to Costco (they finally have one here) and I went to the grocery store.
We met back home.
