Monday 5 June. Rapid City.

Bella woke me up at 6 am this morning and I was definitely not ready to get up.  I let her outside and back in and then I crawled back into bed.  Rob left at about 4 am.  I vaguely remember him saying good bye.
I actually slept 2 more hours and got up at 8.  We went bak outside for a few minutes and had a cup of coffee.  It was actually clear, warm and very sunny.
I came back in for a cup of coffee and ended up checking out my computer.  I had worked on the blog last night and it wouldn't save so I just put it aside so I wouldn't lose what I had typed.
Surprisingly, the internet was working really well, so I started in on catching it up.  I was behind back to May 15th and today is June 5th.
I continued to work and type and put in pictures and kept thinking I should take a break and take Bella out for a walk.  I ate some cereal while waiting for pictures to download.
The next time I looked it was 3:50, almost 4:oo.  I couldn't believe it.
All of a sudden I thought I was hearing an announcement outside.  It is hot out and so the air conditioners are on and all the windows are closed.
I went outside, but the announcement was ending.  I could see that the weather was horrible.  Black clouds had moved in and the wind had picked up.  There was thunder and lightning. I went out and rolled up the rugs and put them away.  I brought in the plants in case the wind really came up and just put stuff out of the way.  Then I came back in.  I heard another announcement.  It was cancelling the previous Lightning warning. I am really tired of this bad weather.  I am glad we are moving on.  I no longer have any desire to go through the windy central plains states where the wind blows free.  I really do not like the wind.  It starts grading on my nerves.
I actually got all caught up on the blog, as far as typing is concerned.  As the day wore on the internet got weaker and weaker and finally I couldn't down load any picture.  So, I just typed and saved and will insert pictures when I get a better connection.
The storm continued to brew.  They announced over the PA system a lightning warning.  The lightning was within 4 nautical miles and all needed to seek appropriate shelter.  It was an amazing light show for the rest of the evening. Clouds to ground, cloud to cloud, and several strikes in a row.  I kept trying to get pictures, but every time I got my camera ready it would go dark.  Naturally, as soon as I sat back down it would light up the sky again.
I watched TV and the light show until bed.
