Saturday; 11 November; Ft Belvoir to AP Hill to Sharps, VA

Crystal clear again this morning now that we are saying good bye to our nice spot on the Potomac.
We weren't in any big hurry so we enjoyed our coffee. I did  make the bed and tuck my jewelry boxes in under the pillows as I always do for security while traveling.
Anyway, we enjoyed Facebook and coffee and then finally decided to get a move on. We finished packing up and then hit the road.  It was all of about 9:30 when we got on the road.  The nice thing was that we really only had about an hour and a half drive.
We drove to Fort A.P Hill.  It is an artillery base.  It is located in Bowling Green, VA.  apparently it is a vey large base.  The RV park is not especially big, but it is nice enough.  We picked our spot and Rob set us up while I went and checked us in.  The interesting thing is that not only are we military, but the fact that we had National Park passes (mine being a senior citizen and Rob's being a veteran with disabilities). That made it so we are only paying $13.00 a night.  That is especially good because we are going to be here for about 3 weeks.
Actually, the RV is going to be there for 19 days but we are only going to actually sleep in it 2 nights.
Anyway; we set up the RV and I took a shower and packed my bag.
We headed off south to Sharps, VA.  Rob's Cousins, Becky and Ed Marks who are Maria's parents live there.  We are going to go and visit and stay with them until Wednesday. They live right next door to where Rob's Grandparents lived while he was growing up.  The last time we saw them was in 2009 when we came through on that RV trip.
It was wonderful to see them.
Rob and I took Bella out for a walk and checked out the old house.  When we were here last time, in 2009, the house was for sale.  It tuned out that people who were related to the original builder bought the house.  They have done a lot of clean up the yard and apparently have done some stuff on the inside as well.  They are not here so we don't get to go inside to see what they have done.  I'd love to see the inside.  I never have.
We chatted for a bit and then we all drove off to Kilmarnock to the Indian Creek Golf Club.  Rob's Uncle Turner (his father's brother) and Ed are both members there. We met Uncle Turner and Darla there and we all had a nice dinner and visit.
We came back to Ed and Becky's and chatted for a bit before going to bed.
